Honeycomb Brioche 

One of the best tutorials I have seen! You work slowly, zoom in, hold your hands so that no stitches are hidden - that's a way to teach!!👏Really good job. I am watching your tutorial and had to make a comment. You are such a patient instructor, I mean you really show the "watcher" how to make this stitch by going slow so those that are new to this stitch can really see how to make it. You are tops!

5:03 is my favorite moment in the video. Snapping the camera off and then picking up exactly where you left off so that we knitters were not at all confused by the blip was amazing! Kudos for being able to make a video that is so clear and helpful while there are obviously children playing nearby. Great job. That is no easy task!

That is the best instructional clip for a knitting stitch I have seen. Your spoken text is very clear, and everything you do and talk about is visible. You could probably make a living teaching people how to make instructional videos! I have been struggling with this stitch for so long because the previous written versions I've seen didn't explain well, and other video clips always had at least one essential point either so fast I couldn't see what they actually did, or off screen, or out of focus. (I kid you not!) Thank you so much.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is the best demonstration of Honeycomb Brioche stitch that I've seen. I did it once, a year or so ago, learning off other videos, and I loved the stitch. However, when I tried to use it again in a new pattern recently, I was doing something wrong, and couldn't quite replicate it again ... it was driving me bonkers for days. Your video enabled me to pinpoint and fix what I was doing wrong. Also, your "put the loose stitch on the needle and knit through the 'X' " tip is brilliant, because that's essentially what one is already doing anyway! 😊 Again, thank you so much for the helpful instruction, and I look forward to checking out your other vids!

Very, very good tutorial. Your instructions are clear and understandable. I can imagine using this stitch in place of stockinette stitch in many patterns. Great!

HI :) I've just gotten back into knitting after a hiatus of around 30 years. It didn't take me long to be fluent and knitting to tension again, phew! Anyways, I actually didn't realise all of the beautiful stitches and patterns that could be made, as I'd only really done rib before and using more than one colour yarn when I was a kid. Anyhoo, I saw the honeycomb brioche and I just 'had' to learn how to do this (among many others - but one at a time!!) and tried to follow other videos and I just couldn't get it. I mean, I'm not THAT unintelligent, but others tend to go a bit fast and/or only show you once before flying off and finishing off their row. I am so thankful I came across your video tutorial. A good teacher always understands what the students need to learn, and your descriptions and your taking the time to show us is an absolute must. In fact, before I found your instruction, I was about to give up and try another stitch. So thank you so much for sharing. You truly have a fantastic gift :)

Thank you for such great tutorial! I watched all other ones are English style and hard to see and go fast. This is continental style which is how most people knit with in where I am (English style is actually the minority so not sure why). I can actually follow this! Thanks so much!! :)

I really love your way of knitting with the yarn wrapped around the finger of left hand. i am so going to try that. just have to figure out how you purl like that. It might sound funny but although I am a native English speaker I learned to knit in France so i don't really have all the English terms down.

Are you a lefty like me? I have been taught to knit - with some awkwardness at first - to knit right handed (i.e. I feed my yarn from the right hand index finger). Finally, I see how a lefty does it. I have learned something - including a new stitch! Thank you - you are an amazing instructor! :)

Instead of separating that additional strand from the proper stitch, it's much easier if you slip the stitch with yarn over two rows before... This way two rows later, you only knit the stitch together with the yarn over made two rows below.

between you & studio knit I have been very inspired to do this stitch. but I'm curious how do you add more yarn when working in brioche knitting? I'm a huge fan of the overlap join for regular knitting but unfamiliar with this stitch.

FIRST, what a wonderful video! You are a masterful teacher! I cannot imagine how you do it because the image is so clear, and by proceeding so slowly I REALLY get what you are doing. I am beyond amazed! Now to my Question... is it possible to do the Honeycomb brioche as a mobius scarf--where you are only working one side of the fabric? or is the 'wrong side' knitting essential?

I am using this pattern in the middle of two other patterns. The first one was easy, but the second time I did it, the honeycomb pattern showed up on the wrong side of the work. In my project, the purl side is the right side.

Hello, I want to knit a raglan sweater with this pattern, but I am not sure how to measure gauge since the rows and stitches are off set. Should I stick the gauge I would get by knitting in stoquinette stitch, or change needle size? The Vs look big. Do they count as one row, or two rows in terms of length? I hope I was clear... Thanks!

At last I've worked out why my stitches don't look so perfect. I'm using yarn from a jumper I started but went wrong so I un did it all, it's now got crinkles where it should be smooth. Whoops.

Every time I make a mistake, I have to rip everything out and start from the beginning again. Do you have any videos on picking up a dropped stitch in Honeycomb brioche? I've seen other videos on fixing dropped stitches in brioche, but it was ribbed brioche, not honeycomb, so it's a horse of a slightly different color. I also at times forget what row I'm on, even though I use a row counter. Sometimes I forget to change the row number when leaving my work, so I do a repeat of the row I just made. Are there signs to look for to know which of the four rows is to be done next?

So you don't have to knit a plain row before beginning the stitch pattern, you do a long tail cast on. By doing the long tail you can K1B right away.
