Crazy fact: Scientists have gathered that when you die and let out your last gasp of air and "your soul leaves your body" like many religious people believe. They have found that you actually lose some weight at that moment in time which correlates with your soul leaving your body… I’m not even religious but that definitely makes you wonder. 💭🧐

This episode is so close to my heart. Tomorrow will be a year since my Mom took her own life. Suddenly losing her that way has been the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. I'm glad you had that moment with your Mom Jessimae. That's something I will never have. I'm just left with questions??? 😔

I know it may seem impossible, but every day, it will get easier, you will have that perspective eventually, knowing she wouldn’t have wanted to leave you with misunderstandings and questions. Things will begin to make sense, little by little, your heart will never mend, but will be able to repair in a way to help you move forward, even if it seems impossible in this moment. Please see a therapist, get on meds should you feel it necessary, no shame, whatever it takes. You’re strong, you got this. It will get easier I promise. She loved you💛

I cried along to this episode. Thank you for this. I lost my Mom suddenly at only 54 a few days before Christmas in 2019, a week after my Grandma's first cancer surgery ( which she just died from said cancer a month ago ). My Dad is 4 months past the year he was given to live when he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last March. These conversations are SO important and helpful to help others with grief, and also to help with the stigma talking about it. It's fucking hard! Grief is never ending, and early on you think you're going crazy and will never see the other side of things. Dark humour is definitely my coping mechanism. If you see this Jessimae, I'm sorry you're part of the shittiest club to be a part of

My Father died about amonth and a half ago because of stubborn, unchecked problems that came crashing at once. I appreciate you soo much, for helping me to laugh through this. Cuz I try to act like I'm fine when, I know I'm not, and from snapping on some asshole who flips me off in traffic. Thank God for dark humor

Lost my dad in 2019 to cancer and my mom in 2021 to ALS and this helped so much. Losing one parent is hard enough losing both within a couple of years is another level of pain

Jessimae Peluso is in my top 5 favorite honeydew guests. And the decision came out of no where, from the last episode she was on all those months back! I got excited to see her as the guest on my feed this morning. Made me cry the last episode and this episode as well. Her and Ryan podcast so well together. Such a great episode per usual

Just lost both of my parents and I remembered this podcast. When it came out I thought she was so funny and strong. Now watching it again I'm reminded of her strength and her humor and intelligence. Still resonates with me today.

Jessimae's touching story reflects some of the failures of the last Eternal Optimism Revival and it's devolution into a zealot movement, like many fringes of movements on all sides of a sociological spectrum.
