I was with two different women like this and a couple of friends. I’ll never put myself through that again. Call it mental illness on their part, but life is too short to be someone’s emotional sponge. They’ll fry your nervous system and quite possibly give you cancer. Go kick rocks and get well.

Went through a very similar experience with a woman I was dating recently....just absolutely blindsided one night after work....there was no good explanation as to why she flipped 180 & there was no reasoning with her.... .It had to end right then & there.....good woman, but mental health issues beyond my capabilities. Just remember thinking/saying to myself repeatedly, what is going on? Is this real? It was a wild experience.

This is so interesting and disturbing at the same time to me. You never know what is going on in the mind of the one you love. It's strange how two people can see one situation from a widely different point of view and live in a completely different reality. Can we really know someone? And to what extent? There is a fine line between compassion you have for the person and your own boundaries sometimes. It's amazing how you created such a place where these things can be talked about with love and humor at the same time. Man, I love this podcast! ❤

Something that bugs me about the story is that DVK never goes to her family and tries to confirm that the Ex is off. If I was going through something like that I would be thinking I was crazy until I got confirmation that something wasn't right. Especially when she said she was at her Sister's, I would say .. can you put your sister on the phone.
