Honeymoon Suite releases a high energy, Modern Rock with Classic Rock hints track entitled: "Tell Me What You Want". This song was produced by Mike Krompass.
This song is mind blowing good, especially this late in their career, and it's amazing how good Johnnie Dee still sounds. A friend turned me onto HMS back when they first came out and I've loved them ever since. There are many underrated bands out there, but these guys are perhaps at the very top of that list. "The Big Prize" easily lands in my personal Top 10 greatest albums of all time. Thanks always guys, for the amazing music that most people are too clueless to realize is out there.
Honeymoon Suite sounds great , fresh new modern sound , I still listen to older stuff which was back in my day. This album is worth buying it's all good.
As a fan from Day 1, HS is like a warm blanket and your favourite comfort food. Hanging with familiar friends. I can’t overstate, like many in the comments, just how tight this band still is. Like a fine wine I guess. At this point, I really hope the boys are at peace with themselves, and their contributions and legacy in Canadian music. Thank you for being an ear worm of my youth. 🤟🇨🇦🍺.
I'll tell u what I want .. I want u guys to play in my living room! haa - seriously, An amazing Band that just keeps giving and giving. thank you for decades of Rock'n Roll to be Proud of! #HMS4Ever
So good. Sounds a bit like something that might have been on ‘Monsters Under The Bed.’ A bit more in the classic vein of HMS. They are iconic but should have seen a wider audience than they did. Few bands sound this good that have been around this long.
I remember back when American music stores were not stocking HMS releases like Monsters Under The Bed.. Luckily for me - back in the days when internet was AOL dial up, I found the HMS website and a great Lady named Jacqui sent me Monsters Under the Bed and 13 LIVE from Canada! I have always said it - HMS is one of the most underrated bands of all time. Peace.
@@blehman18066 wow! I knew Jacqui through the fan club around 1991 when "Monsters" came out. We were pen pals. She lived in Toronto area. Do you still have contact with her?
I haven't heard anything about a new album coming out. Nothing on thier website. I didn't think too much about this song at first. Now I love it! The Clifton Hill album was fantastic! The Big Prize and Monsters Under The Bed were excellent too!
Thanks! Calgary Grey Eagle you played this as a part of the encore. I like it. I'd buy a new recordings and I would definitely see you live again! Still sounding great!
They just posted some new music on YT. "Find What You're Looking For." Check it out. It's really good. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nyzdhdXAyJU.html
Other than the clicks and the snaps before the song kicks in, this is a good track. I just hate these modern production gimmicks. These guys are too good for that crap.
Reading your comment I thought "Wait, what's he talking about?" because in multiple listens I hadn't consciously noticed. Going back to listen just for that, I immediately picked up on it. I don't dig modern gimmicks either (especially all the digitized vocals), but I have to disagree just a bit with you here. I think the use of the "snaps" is actually quite well done. They are only used sparingly and very subtly (case in point that I'd only subliminally noticed it) and to the degree where it adds a nice touch to the song in the quieter beginning and into the transition of right before it starts to really rock. I count a total of 5 "snaps" and actually think the song as a whole is masterfully produced. Still, your astuteness is very keen and appreciated. I'm just fine with a well thought out critical observance. Too many people pop off out of sheer emotion....like in the other reply.
I have everything they've ever done in my collection. They've always been able to write songs that combine solid musicianship with good commercial hooks. Having said that, after a first listen, it feels a bit like they're trying to be something they're not here. It's a bit confusing because the melody sounds a bit like everybody else today. There's digitized vocals, somewhat predictable modern production and drum programming. Derry is an awesome player who never disappoints. Listen to this solo!. I guess I'd still rather listen to HMS than most of the newer artists from this genre. Maybe this will grow on me. It's a far cry from songs like All Along You Knew, Feel It Again, Wounded, Words in The Wind, Lost and Found, Heart On Fire,
These guys were able to write such great melodies. I wonder what happenned for them to write such a bad songs nowadays. It's really sad because with a couple of good songs, they could well have been made a decent comeback... 🤷♂
