The dcs pcs7 system and the Honeywell refinery system ... 1- How do I transfer the signal between them? 2-And if the signal is transmitted and there are problems when operating through the Honeywell, what is the solution?
Great to hear. Usally such kind of communication happens through modbus. If distance is more then in that case optic fibres are laid. These checks are done during engineering phase only. I am not aware about the distance & architecture in your plant, so i can not comment more on it. Generally you should only monitor the third party systems from DCS & if you want a control then in that scenario it should be hardwired. I believe your doubts are clear a bit now.
There is one more option in positioner also (For direct & reverse action setup), you can use that if you don't want to use the PID Controller option. It is best to change the action in PID controller itself
