This video illustrates the issue I'm having with one of my Honeywell RTH9580 Thermostats. It also recaps the call that I made to Honeywell's help-desk.
2018-06-12: Called Honeywell Support again today. No resolution as of yet. They've promised to elevate the issue again, and will call back when they have a resolution.
2018-08-06: Called Honeywell Support twice today, and got a message to the effect, "All our associates are busy assisting other customers. Please call back some other time". This is the first time I've ever had customer support at any company not put me in a waiting line. Honeywell must be swamped.
2019-04-08: Called Honeywell support on my original issue (Missing Fan Icon) again today. Once again they told me they are going to escalate the issue. They admitted that they had not escalated previously even though they had said they would.
2019-04-08: Called support with another issue involving the red banner that said my thermostat had lost connection with my network, even though the connection was still intact. They were able to reset on their end to resolve this problem.
2019-05-13: Contacted Honeywell again on this issue today. They've apparently given up on resolving the issue, and are sending me a replacement unit. Unfortunately, the replacement unit is newer than the one with the problem, so my four thermostats in the house will no longer be all the same. I guess the moral of the story is to keep after them, and they'll eventually make it right.
2019-05-24: Replacement thermostat arrived yesterday. I installed it today. Issue seems to be resolved.
