What more could you possibly want from a final? This is battling at its best... ESPECIALLY considering who they had to battle to GET to this final. They left everything on the floor and had heart enough to keep real and real interesting to the very end. People should do anything in their life like these two did this night, then we would see real progress in the world
1st round: Issei--cleaner freezes, good flow/musicality 2nd round: Hong 10--good freezes, original content/style 3rd round: Hong 10--better response, more content, originality 4th round: Issei--H10 repeated the same transition from his 1st round, awkward/missed freezes 5th round: Issei; more dynamic, good flow/blow-ups, H10 missed his shirt trick
ISSEI WON. First of all, I'm b-boy Megane from Shangri-la crew in Japan. I've been Bboying for 14 years, so I'm not just a person who knows nothing about breakdance. Anyway, There are some solid reasons why I believe Issei took the battle. First, here is MY analysis to define the reasons why Hong 10 lost and Issei won. 1st round: Issei won. (As Issei pointed out and one of the commentators say, Hong 10 repeated his moves, and frankly, Issei was better anyway.) 2nd round: Tie 3rd round: Hong 10 won. (Hong 10 was much better in every way.) 4th round: Hong 10 won. (These 3rd round and 4th round must confuse people because Hong 10's moves are longer and he goes later, so you have to look every round very closely.) 5th round: Issei won. (Hong 10 crashed. Issei's set was better.) Second, this is something people who was there or who was watching live TV can only tell. (※I was sitting in the first row of block-B) ISSEI WENT FIRST even though he just finished semifinal against Victor. Of course, there was a break between the semifinal and the final. However, that was only 15 minutes (glass-hopper's show and some wait) at the longest. Bboys should know that's not enough to go 5 more rounds on the Redbull BC ONE. I also know that it must have been Hong 10's strategy and that Issei has been bboying enough to know it, but he went first anyway. I think Judges must have given some points for his courage and strong heart. (btw, Hong 10 never went first.) At last, the last round is the most important round, but at the same time, the last round is the most difficult and tiring round not having much energy. On the last round, Issei did amazingly powerful move. It's VERY VERY VERY hard to do that kinda move when you are exhausted. Judges might have given some points for that too. What it all comes down to is that it seems like tie game or some people might say Hong 10 won, but I believe Issei definitely took the battle.
even though hong lost, lets not forget he beat most of the previous bc one champs in 2013 and won the bc one again for the 2nd time in his country Korea. Hong is a legend and I hope he comes back stronger wins it for the 3rd year next year! LETS GO TEAM HONG!
One of the best Red bull bc one event, all of competitors was strong and deserve they place at this battle, and i'm so glad that Issei won that title, because he is humble and respectful b-boy, he don't have bad attitude, like Lilou or Gravity, he respect opponent and always shake hand after a battle, but he still a showstopper and crowd love him. Hong 10 always will be a legend and one of the most strong opponent. He can win at the next year if he want to participate again. But now, it's Issei win, first Japan b-boy who won Red Bull Bc one and take that title in his home country. P.s. Young Gunz are rocked, really glad to see, how they grown up, right on our eyes. Young generation of b-boys will blow up, more than once.
Man this was such a great BCone. We are winners to have witnessed it. So many great battles. Thought Hong should've won but issei also deserved it. Hong already has two wins so he shouldn't be upset
Hong 10 was so close to his 3rd title, I also thought he had that, overall, i'm pretty sure he had it, but I guess issei made the right impression in the last round! Anyway, Issei deserves it!
@@lastgaurdian1888 nah, dude, Issei took R1 with signatures precisely on the music, whereas hong10 repeated and wasn't as clean. R2&R3 easily hong10, as he caught up with Issei's energy, while winning in the swipe game. R4 Issei's round was lacking a bit of energy, but he responded with a swipe variation once again, that was performed inferior to Hong's previous swipes, but Issei put the round overall on balance/control. Hong10 did a sweet round 4, but it wasn't as clean, and his last signature was performed imperfectly, so the round might be called a draw. R5 Issei repeated his signature power set, but still it was super impactful being performed in R5 of the finals. Hong10, on the other hand, missed the tanktop trick. It all pretty much comes down to what is more appreciated by each judge. Mounir, for example, is closer towards Issei's style, and he also greatly appreciates the moves being clean, so his vote was quite obvious here.
ISSEI only 19, and his attitude is amazing! this year he lost 3 big event final:Silverback Open, freestylesession, Unbreakable...I believe you guys know how bad feeling will have that you so close but take 2nd pleace, as such as bad like hong 10's reaction in redbullbc1 2016 final but issei always congratulate the winner without angry...he just keep improve himself I think he win this battle by his own strength for these whos say that hong 10 win, I have to said I am hong 10 fan too, but issei more clean and powerful in many round you have to accept the result and keep going, and you guys still have many thing have to learn from issei before to judge him
They really tired, as bboy I really understand the pressure of a final and the pain when it comes to a long round. Lost of creativity, and stamina really affect the way you rockin the floor. But bravos to both of them for keeping those till the last round.
Isse won for me. He had musicality and attitude. That's what dancing is, moving your body to beat of music. Hong10 threw lots of good stuff but he crashed a lot.
me personally i think hong 10 won rounds 1-3 issei took the last 2. hong 10 shouldve got it but issei has been shredding all year. he learned from that loss to thesis to conserve his energy. nothing but respect for issei
Hong 10 is one of my favourite bboys, but man, although it was a really close battle i and very happy with the result. Issey deserve this tittle, moreover to recognize to his increidible and not too luck year. Too many times on second place, and he deserved the first time. I´m very happy he´s a fucking monster on stage, incredible bboy. And very sad looking the stage empty after the result. ISSEI LEGEND!!!! 2016 BEST BBOY!!!!
I personally think Issei should have worn a Do-rag on his head in a battle like he did in Freestyle Session 2015. It really fits his personality and style and it makes him look really fresh.
When I saw it live I thought that Hong10 should've taken this battle by a little margin but now when I re-watched Issei's last set I agree that Issei is a clear winner here. Going out on the floor for so many rounds and deliver that kind of moves with musicality in the very last round is no easy task. Actually Issei's best rounds for entire competition were his last rounds against Victor and Hong10 and that's why he won - conserving his best for last. P.S. also respect to Stance for this footage. And fuck Red Bull killing all the hype of the battle with that stupid commentary shit and also that stupid changing camera angles shit.
Well, I don't know. I think (in bottle of my soul) that the reason of Hong10's loss is Mounir. He is still angry for his loss in 2013 (do you believe he could give the victory to Hong10?? pfff, plese) so that could be 3-2 for korean, who knows =)
IKR, i've been telling people that this year's judge is just unfair for Hong 10, there will always be 2 negative votes for him (from Mounir and the Japanese judge)
So straight off the bat I wanna say ; As much as I love Hong 10, this definitely makes up for losing Freestyle and Silverback. Issei deserves this and has been the people's hero/winner for quite some time. I know some dick is gonna call me out for being an eboy or keyboard warrior and yeah sure whatever ; I'm just stating my opinion. Issei losing Silverback due to some "Strategic tactic." Nah fuck that, I wanna see two niggas go at it in the finals. Not throw one MAYBE original move thats MAYBE on beat to exhaust the other one. Nah for sure if I were in the finals ; I'd do my damn hardest/best to win by dancing to as much of the beat or music, with as many moves as possible in each set. Issei losing Freestyle? I can't be mad. El Nino went hard during finals. But It hurts to see a difference in difficulty of moves and then for El Nino to finish off the last round with something short and lacking? Thats fucking intentional. So this battle made me happy seeing that Issei gets a god damn break in between sets for once. As well as to see this battle was evenly matched in terms of difficulty of moves, originality and so on and so forth made me happy to see Issei win. But I know atleast one of you niggas wanna call me out and shit for something I said and getting you worked up and your panties in a knot. It's like I said ; its my opinion.
The thing that most people who say Issei deserves it because of hard he's performed throughout the year don't understand is that BC one isn't a competition to see who did the best or how hard you've tried this year. It's all about the battle and what's only in the battle (inc. related battles). And if you thought of it the second way, Hong 10 won, close, but Hong 10 made it clear. And don't get me wrong Issei is already legendary, but I'm just giving my two cents.
hong 10 clearly lost bro. He has a gimmicky style. Holow backs are cool to hity but not cruise in them for like 2 minutes. Boooooring. lol. 2 finger freeze is weird and he is always falling all over the place flopping around. Issei won.

Man props to issei watching someone so talented and hard working always placing 2nd in events to winning bc one made me shed a tear props well deserved man and its crazy but I would have loved to see thesis in this maybe next year? :)

Why are they so tired this finals? I think in the last years finals and the one with hong and mounir, they were a lot more energy. Were the times inbetween each battle shorter?!
Round 2 and 3 is free round for hong10 but he had minor crash on his signature moves both rounds.. issei play it safe both rounds but its kinda short so idk.. that might be the winning point for issei
