There is definitely something addictive to Hong Kong. Once you go, there's a certain sentimentality that you can't find in western countries. But living there can be quite different... Found it bit claustrophobia after awhile. Hong Kong be great for snowbirds.
Perfect video for my upcoming HK trip this May. As I have been to HK a couple of times, so this time I’m looking for places to visit that are not too touristy such as the Lantau island, Disneyland. Thanks for sharing! :)
Disneyland Hong Kong 🇭🇰 for my birthday 🎂 party 🎊 my friend and family I have a present 🎁apple watch and cctv doorbell plane ticket go to china 🇨🇳 Singapore 🇸🇬
Thank you for this! Taking notes 📝 I won a free round trip ticket to HK from the world of winners campaign by HK tourism board and cathay pacific and I'm coming in December! So excited 🤩
I was born and raised in Hong Kong but have never eaten any snake, turtle or gator. Even so I live in South Carolina now, I still haven’t tried any gator here. 😅
As a former HK local years ago and recently going back for a 2-week vacation with kids, I must say the level of service (restaurants/retail) has gone down so soooooo much.... most people there wouldn't smile or even say thank-you... some were even worse sounding so arrogant.... but if u got a white face, u would probably receive better service still!! ^^
@rakuraku8... agree ! It's exactly my own experiences over there too . But , certain situations were the same in the 60's when I was there during my teen years . 🇺🇸
I think Hong Kong just moved to the top of my bucket list, Sorry Tokyo! This is such an enjoyable video in its own right, its gives you all the exciting feeling of travelling to a new place and makes you feel like you are there in spirit. Great job
We’re in Hong Kong at the moment. I’m all fat from all the good food! We’ve been here for almost 2 weeks and will be going home soon. There’s still so much we haven’t done. We’re already planning our next trip back!
We like slow travel too, at least you can allocate more time on the places you are enjoying most. Its ok if you are not able to visit other destinations, at least you have a reason to come back :)
Great video but something is incorrect - Chicken rice isn’t from HK, it’s from Singapore. Obviously you have not been to Singapore. Dim Sum is very HK.
@@TeamOutofTown nope it is not, even though it’s called Hainanese chicken rice, it is from Singapore and it’s a local food here. You can compare what you get in Hainan itself and it’s different from the one you get in Singapore. Not sure why people who goes to HK always think chicken rice is from there. In Singapore chicken rice is not just plain rice, it is aromatic rice that’s delicious. You won’t know until you have tried!
teamout oftown is right. Hai nam chichen rice is origined from Hai nam island.China. in the early of the 2oth century. many Hainanese immigrated to all parts of the world. including Singapore. you are too young to know this allusion..
Let's face it, going up to the Peak is dramatically overrated. If waiting i, by n line for 2 hours doesn't break you, the fog and mist obstructing the view at the top certainly will. Disneyland is incredible by HK standards. However, compared to Tokyo, Paris, or Disneyworld, it's a few rungs down the ladder. The Jumbo restaurant used to be our "go-to". Pity it closed. The "symphony of lights" is another overrated attraction. Yes. there are lights. Yes, there is music. But if you haven't noticed, the harbour is extremely well lit. Regretfully, the short show doesn't really have a wow factor. More of an "of dear!" moment. Favourite thing to do in HK : go on a day trip to Macau.
there's a saying, What one person may consider to be worthless/useless could be valuable to someone else. I agree to some of the things you pointed out though :) But I still love Hong Kong no matter what :) Peace!
This synthetic voice narration is awful, and the channel author doesn't even bother to put in the time to make the headings accurate or even spelled correctly. Go to HK and say the names as the voice here does and you'll be laughed at.
Generally a good list, but for the love of God...nearly every place name pronounced wrong...really badly. I've lived here 20 years...even before moving here after a couple of trips i could pronounce them better than this ...every Chinese place name wrong 🤦♀️
sorry about that, sometimes we asians hate when white people laugh at our accent... I realized asians are just the same :) Luckily not all of us! but hey thanks for your feedback.
