This lady is plain awesome, plenty plenty soul. Some idiot pressed the dislike button, and I thank god Alicia doesn't have a penchant for mimickry. If I were Billy Butler i'd be proud of her.
The three B's - Bill, Billy and Bill - made some great music at various times and in various combos. This one by Bill and Billy stands the test of time.. Done so well in the style we oldsters recall and love, Alicia. Many thanks to you for carrying that style forward. Mattie
Awesome chops! Great job with soloing on your very own over this old school classic! I love the recorded solo done by the original guitarist, Billy Butler. But it's nice to hear someone try their own soloing, and yours was just as captivating. Bravo! 👏👏👏
as a old fart whose 64 been all my life playing guitar ! I must say you have got the style / feel of the LEGENDS , just perfect ! well done ! I bet your grand pa is the same age as me ! and it takes him back to our youth , when we use to listen to this on scratchy old MONO records recorded in one take , no mastering etc . cheers from ritchie .
This is such a huge compliment. I really try to acknowledge the legends when I play, so to have someone write this to me just blows my mind! I'm so happy to hear that I could take you back to your youth as well. Thanks for the marvelous comment, sir!
i got a moment,, that is your corner in there.. happy that you put out all these vids for us.. and, on a personal note, i hope you do not decide to get contacts.its perfect. there are a lot of talented folks on here ,but, i dont have time to watch anyone's music vids except yours anymore,,, have a great weekend,,
After watching the video I did not know just what to say ... so I decided to watch again and again and again to the words reborn in me, but that-words when what you see and hear is so full of perfection, talent, determination? Then I thought, probably the masters around you, BB, Muddy, L. Walter, J. Brown, H. Wolf and others are satisfied because the legacy left by them is in great hands ... if I try to do the first chords probably break my fingers ... kkkkkkkk ... thanks for sharing ;-)
Some really great solo improvisations Alicia - I love listening to, watching and trying to learn from guitarists who can get so much out of a truly economical use of the fretboard. Great stuff, and wonderful to have notification of a new upload. The only flaw .... the fadeout came much too soon. I could have listened to your playing for ages longer. Thanks.
How're you, Alan? As always, thanks for the really uplifting and generous comments. I really appreciate the "economical" compliment...I really strive to be that way. Sorry for the length, but I'm so happy that you wanted to hear more. Take care, Alan. Thanks again.
Are you familiar with Anthony Paule, the blues guitarist based in San Francisco? He is big on Guilds, and has Starfires and Aristocrats, etc., I believe.
