A comparison with Vivo updated, would be definitely the way to go! Vivo X100 Pro really intrigues me. Do you know how many years of Android major releases Vivo gives to customers?
So happy you're the first guy to Review ( 1st Impressions ) with the Honor magic 6 Pro ... Really keen to see how it does in comparison to the competition and against the Magic 5 Pro ( Truly think Honor is such a underrated company and I hope we get the Magic 8 OS and the 6 Pro globally )
@@RU-vid-Censorship-Police With phones having larger sensors with periscope style lens and wider aperture, it produces nice results. I absolutely loved using 4X on Pixel 6 Pro when it came out, it was my most used lens for portraits without any need of portrait mode. And now phones doing periscopes with even wider aperture than f/ 3.0 is super nice. Magic6 Pro must have the most intense natural blur yet with its persicope it being 1/1.4" sensor and with wide f/2.6 aperture. Can't wait to see more "continuous optical zoom" style persicope implementation like Sony does.
I just can't wait for this. I have the M 5 pro and I absolutely adore it. In terms of software, as an ex Huawei user, this is the best thing ever. Thank you Honor.
It's really like old good Huawei? My last Huawei was mate 20 pro and after that I got iPhone 11 and pixel 6a. Looking to upgrade this year to a flagship and wondering if it's better to get Honor Magic 6 pro, Vivo x100 pro or wait for Pixel 9 (really love clean android).
@@michamaecki5678it is. Sorry for the late response. Most of the features are there including gimmicky stuff like mirror or mirror compass. You do get the good stuff. Great screen, 3D face unlock, the SEARCH SCOPE (best feature on a smartphone), desktop mode, etc...I have the Pixel 7 pro as well and I love the pics and some picture related software as well as the design, but HM 5 pro is a different beast. Better everything in my biased view 😂. I have to say, I don't like the vanilla android. Have an older Pixel 4A 5g as well...meh. Tried different stuff after Huawei's ban. As soon as HM 6 pro gets here in Europe, I'll grab it even if the 5 looks like it could take on the world for another 5 years. For me, after seeing a few devices, the HM 5 pro is the best smartphone of 2023. Battery, screen, packed with features, fast shutter (faster than Iphone's), also quick transitions in the camera, that 3D face unlock with a small cutout that doesn't feel intrusive. I'm addicted. Biased reviewers who can't see through samsung and apple are a desease. I wish people would give this a try for two weeks and talk later.
I'm really looking forward to a further detailed review. I really like that they are using a 180 MP sensor for telephoto, so you get really good zoom photos over different zoom ranges. Also that they are using 28mm standard focal range, which feels more natural and less unnecessarily wide. You are also probably the first trustworthy reviewer, making video about this device.
28mm main and 70mm portrait seems like ideal setup, iphone and samsung are too wide focal for main camera and too tight for telephoto, making it more difficult to use for family pics, this one seems like a win already, win on paper, can't wait for your review!
I got the Magic 5 Pro last year and Im lovin it. Battery life just excellent and the camera is exceptional. Got it for 740 usd 12 + 512. The only thing feels weird to me is the camera cutout position at the corner, now at the center is so much better.
I knew you'll be the first one to get it. Nice work I switched to Magic 5 pro after a looong streak of S ultras and I'm loving it. The only thing i'm missing is ability to change the background blur of the photos already taken. Makes me not wanna shoot portraits at all. Please tell me thats added!? ...and i did have to restart the phone a few times which never happened with ultras (3x in 6 months, so its not that bad). ...but overall the speed is great, cameras are amazing, the battery life is the best one out there for sure!
Been following your channel for sometime. No Bullshit, straight to the point with details/samples about the device,no unnecessary yapping, quick videos after release,..keep it up 👍👍 Same with lim reviews and few other channels
3:49 This is a valid point you can save as many articles in the favorite space to read later. 3:49 I love this idea it's convenient and intuitive. 3:14 I love the way you swipe across the upper right corner of the screen to pull out the favourite menu.
Thanks Ben! Can't wait for full review. I love my Magic 5 pro. So good, everyone thinks I'm a pro photographer and ask me to take their pics not their iphones
i said this long time ago and will say it again, BG, is the best phone & tablet reviewer on RU-vid and always always gets you the latest "hot out of the oven!" ..Simply said, ..ben is Amazing and never Stops! ..keep going bro 👌👏👏👏✌
One of the best camera reviews I've seen for the Honor Magic 6 pro. You highlights his strengths and his weaknesses. I notice at night the stabilization gets all jittery but the camera itself actually picks up lot of details, which was my main worry on other videos. Image remains very good but it's more about that jitter on the OIS!
Thanks a lot for this hands-on! I am holding my breath on the preorder deals on S24 Ultra because of this phone! X100 Pro is hard to get and F7 Ultra is interesting as well but not global!
in 5:49 you can read that info on the picture that x100 took but on the Honor, it's not readable (at least for me) it seems like they using Denoise software but why, you already using a good camera setup why do you need to Denoise it too much (compared to x100 in my opinion it's too much)
Refreshing clean back design, Secure Face unlock, Stereo speakers, water resistance, good cameras, large 5600mah battery with 80w fast charging. If I was looking for a new smartphone. This would be my pick.
The phone looks good but im very surprised they went with a smaller main camera sensor than last year just to get the variable apparure, not a choice i would have made
I was waiting for the review. I'm currently using a Redmagic 8 pro titanium, as daily driver but as a father I just need better software and cameras. The back cam is decent but it lacks Manny features and is just not as reliable as camera phones. I'll still hold on to the redmagic for gaming only, but as daily driver it has already started to annoy me. Thanks for the review. I need to decide between the Xiaomi 14 pro and this.
You said that honor will be releasing a global version as well? I hope so. I would be interested in this device. I just want it to have Android Auto to work in the US. I used to be a huge Huawei fan until the ban. Huawei lives on through Honor in my opinion and I hope Honor makes more of a push to become a major flagship here in the US because it's very slim pickings in regards to true flagships here in the US. Apple and Samsung might as well merge at this point and I wouldn't be surprised if they do. Ridiculous how much control they rain over here in the US.
You can't really blame Honor or any of the other Chinese brands for not wanting to even try breaking into the US market. The unfortunate truth is that the risk is just too high.
@@Nathan.1882 I'm definitely going to try and get one. I'm in the market at the moment and had been planning on the OnePlus 12 but I have missed Huawei ever since and I'm really hoping that Honor enters the US flagship scene. The US has two to three flagship options to choose from and that's due to this monopoly that controls the US mobile industry. I can't remember their name ;😲 Great review man! Always enjoy your videos. They are very thorough!
Good video, thank! Tell me, please, is there portrait or cinematic video mode? Is there some AI feature for picture, for exemple, to delete something on the photo?
very good video, I don't regret buying, very good phone, I have a Chinese version and the play store works and the cameras are phenomenal,HONOR MAGIC 6PRO
Thanks for your efforts, Ben, really appreciate it. I am drawn to buy Honor 6 magic pro, Vivo x100 pro, Xiaomi 14 pro , Xiaomi 14, Pocco x6 pro or to wait for the x100 pro+ and Xiaomi 14 ultra. I live in Germany and I am fine with an English menue. Currebtly owning a Huawei mate 10 pro and any of these phones will be a big upgrade. Most important 3 things for me are: photography/cameras, battery life and stability when it drops down since I have kids and want to use my phone another 5-6 years...
I bought Vivo x100 pro and I am very pleased with the phone battery, cameras and stability so far. Is a great phone. The only 2 things that for me could be done better are : 1. Flat screen and add some gorilla glass protection 2. The fingerprint scanner could have been added or a bit more to the middle of the phone or on the power button for more natural hand position .
Damn, the phone looks awesome :) Love how competitive the Chinese phones are becoming now :) I use Samsung, but I am considering to switch to OnePlus or so after the S26 Ultra (currently own the S23 Ultra)...
4:50 check out how readable those text are on the menu board behind the barista, and how "frozen" the shot looks on just a quick hand held shot as compared to the S24 ultra, the magic 6 pro has evolved the millennium falcon shooting or whatever tech name they call it to another level implementing them onto the zoom and low light shots from the last gen magic 5 pro
Thanks for your first impression. I've been waiting for the global release of the X100 in Europe for 2 months now. And Samsung's S24 are available immediately after the launch and make many Chinese global releases obsolete.
I'm particularly impressed by this phone's telephoto camera, and surprised that it seems to beat the Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra in nighttime zoom photos. Also intersted in the side by side camera comparison against other flagship smartphones like the S24 ultra,Vivo X100 Pro,Oppo Find X7 Ultra, etc . That would be interesting.
My father in germany just said he cant believe that oppo and vivo are real phones. If more people would know about those brands and you could buy them everywhere all phones would be much better by now. The vivo x100 pro has been the first phone in a while that impressed me.
I guess this Honor just good for photography.. if you notice the footage when panning the video on zoom x2.5 there's a noticeable frame dropped occur.. the stabilization shaky a lot during low light but this is a quick review so I hope the full review will be the final judge for this Honor.
I really appreciated this content and I am looking forward to see the camera comparison among this flagship and the oppo x7 pro , vivo x100 pro, S24 ultra, iphone 15 pro Max and mate 60pro. Regards from Brazil.
No need to apologize. Any video from you is a treat, however off-the-cuff it is! That periscope lens has a really funky cut-out. I wonder if it's shaped to prevent reflections and flare. Gobsmacked that Honor is going for such a large sensor with so many pixels. This has the potential to be a portrait photo monster. Disappointed Honor hasn't yet hit the 1" zone, but 1/1.3" is still decent in this day and age. What's the sensor size on the ultra-wide? Kind of disappointed nobody seems to be spending on them nowadays, as I love the big 1/1.5" ultrawide on my old Mate.
I really hesitate between the OnePlus 12 and the Honor Magic Pro 6. I keep my phones for a long time (currently using a OP 6T that's 5 years old), so i don't want to have regrets. The current offer for the OP12 is really interesting, free buds pro 2, 512/16 for the price of the 256/12 and 100€ reduction, so it only costs 899€. Also, OP offers 4 years of android updates and 5 years of security updates. About the Honor, i know the camera will be better, also there will be more gadgets, possibly also some AI options, etc. It's gonna be more expensive, but a better quality. I also like the design of the HM6P better, it's my favorite on many aspects and i don't mind paying 200 more euros for it. But i've read that Honor only offers 3 years of android and 4 years of security updates. A lot of reviews say that Magic OS isn't the best overlay and Honor doesn't update it very regularly. A contrary, i really like Oxygen OS and OnePlus updates it regularly. So i'm here to ask tech fans to help me chose since i can't do it myself. Please 😅
Check and the Motion capture is big selling point! there is any new improvement; for me is the reason to buy magic 5 pro I'm taking amazing pictures my kids and my dogs non of other phones using this technology. 😊 And the last thing honor has to improve the updates is lacking alot specialy in eu.. Most of the users we are waiting 2 months.. super annoying.
No apology necessary! I honestly enjoyed how concise you were! In-depth reviews are great but this brass tacks overview piques my interest as most phones have similar specs, so focusing on what's different as well as the main points people are interested in is fantastic!
Hey Ben! One of the things that kept me away from Honor/Huawei was that the software felt outdated. Can you make a short video with the new features or refinements of the new skin? Thanks! 🙂
Dankjewel voor de review,ik wacht nu op je volledig recensie van de honor magic 6 pro,en dan maak ik een keuze de honor magic 6 pro of de One Plus 12. Bedankt 👍🏻
Loved the hardware of my 5Pro. Especially the curved edges, really comfortable. Shame the software was pretty shit with slow updates. The 6 will be the same outside China. Shame.
Thank you Ben. It is showing that the Samsung goes always in the blue color. So that the black color is early more sharp than the honor. For your full test, can you test with the huawei mate 60 pro and your others phones told please ? thank you very much :)
Cannot wait for the full proper review... I had my X100pro stolen just last week in Barcelona and just bought a new one. Maybe I will change it to the Pro Plus later in the year if the rumors are true. If not it will be my daily driver for the next 3 years.
I wish the 3d Face unlock / selfie cam was in the left corner like last years model. I love the design of the phone. Watching from my Honor Magic 5 Ultimate that I promised to keep for all of 2024.
Hi I’m watching your vidéo from France 🇫🇷 😊 I like you style and tests, Even if it’s a Little difficult to understand everything you explain 😅 You are doing a Great job 👍🏻
