It took multiple attempts for me to complete that fight and watching this upset me. I haven't fought Gortash and apparently everything online is nonsense because I can just walk out with him and throw him to his death.

Seeing someone completing this game in 20 minutes where it took me 100 hours for my first play through fills me with both wonder and a small amount of sadness. Amazing run though btw
So, from the look of it, they used benign transposition, a conjuration wizard ability, to swap places with Orin in the exact moment Orin teleports away due to shove. This works because Orin, disguised, is flagged as an ally to avoid spoilers. This teleports the player to where Orin teleports to, which is off the map where all the spawnable and despawnable entities are, including the netherstone. My mind is officially blown. Hopefully I didn't miss anything
@@cryptojuicer she is using invisibility, and when you are invisible, attack, and pass the check to stay invisible, you don't enter combat. So you can keep using actions like you're not in combat
I won't lie, the second I threw a goblin with Lae'zel in act 1 I knew immediately "Someone is going to exploit this." All quest specific NPC's should be immovable.
Larian isn’t a developer that you would consider “a stick in the mud” or haters of fun, but Jaheira interacting with artifact and the emperor as if she had a tadpole seems narratively broken. Unless the game addresses this somewhere(?) this could get patched. I say this as someone that loves the speedrun and the tech.
I just realized that Jaheira is interacting with the tadpole 😂 Tbh even if they patched this out were still early on in the speed running life of bg3. Who knows what other exploits come out in the coming years
@@karolswieboda1781 no one is saying it’s anyone’s fault. Just because I made the comment doesn’t mean I have a problem with it, especially when it comes to a speedrun. No pitchfork out saying “FIX MY GAME LARIAN”. Kind of think finding that unintended interaction is cool, not that it matters what I think. Just pointing out how it narratively doesn’t make sense. They even go as far to make sure you can’t give Jaheira or hirelings tadpole powers because they don’t have tadpoles.
She's not the one coming up with them. These are strats that have been available almost since day 1, just with a lot of optimization and modified for honor. It's nothing I haven't seen in regular any%.
@@ujeeedzwoni9540 I mean I won't talk to the rest of his comment but she isn't the one coming up with them by herself. Speedrunning is and always will be a community effort. She and many other speedrunners try stuff day in and day out to see what works and what doesnt. They all find different little tricks and paths and such and then as a community the change is adapted into the run. There may be many parts of this run she was the one to discover but I know a bunch of them she did not. Nothing against her though she is a monster its just one person cant do it all in speedrunning.
I'm having the time of my life sinking hundreds of hours into this game and haven't even considered speed running to be a thing for this game. This is great

I was afraid to see some spoilers, but it's ok doesn't have any spoilers because all of this suddenly ends so fast. Like throwing gortash from the bridge and he don't even noticed what was happening
if you have gale in your party you can also detonate him in dialog choice during first brain encounter (before myrkle fight), which is kind of wins you the game without necessicty to go through act3
what a ridiculous out-of-the-box way of playing! did you know these secrets from some of the developers? I wonder what that trick with Orin in the sewers was, which led to some strange chessboard-like floor then straight to the Baal's temple? Killing of Gortash and Thorm - genious! I've finished the game today on the 254 hour!) With such giant leaps you don't even need to fly.
GAMEPLAY SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT FOR ACT 3 DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT THEM YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED: That is one of the places Orin can spawn in as Yenna/one of your companions in a normal playthrough to inform you they have kidnapped them, They use "Benign Transposition: Teleport" spell to swap places with their Tav who they reverse pickpocket into the inventory of Yenna (Orin) and as they push Orin with magic hand simultaneously cast the spell to swap places with their Tav when Orins character model swaps and teleports into the dev area where they keep important assets pre loaded.

Wait, hold on a second!! You can let you get arrested by the absolutes army, thrown in ilithid jail, get right into the final fight and basically skip so 90% of act 2? Over 200 hours and this game never stops to amaze me.
Tecnically there is a wall that prevents you from going there and skipping the content. Speedrunners just found a way to ignore physics and jump straight through that wall.
I'm not 100% I understand what's going on here, but I think it leverages what the community calls damage riders being treated as damage sources. Example: 3 magic missiles + buff that heals each time you hurt an enemy + item that adds 2 damage to each attack. 3 magic missiles is 3 attacks, so the item should add 6 damage. Instead, the code multiplies instead of adding, and sees 3 missiles + 1 heal each = 6 attacks, so +12 damage. in this case, it looks like Mae stacked this multiplication many times, meaning the damage buffs were likely applied to the enemies hundreds of times
The end is utilizing a bug that causes your buffs to be infinite duration. Basically kill your character, turn on Turn-based mode, pick up their corpse, turn off turn based mode, drop the corpse and revive them. All buffs on them will be infinite until they enter combat. In this case they use the Illithid version of Perilous Stakes that gives each damage instance +15 damage, with the bug you can stack it and will only lose 1 turn by the time you get to the brain.
Kill my companions and put them in my pockets, make everyone a wizard with high strength and dex, use feather fall and big jumps every time I can, big bear and I'm gonna beat Honor mode, got it.
It depends on if you already know how to jump through walls or not, but for that jump specifically, you need to do it while one of the npcs (intellect devourer or Chop) is moving and has their line of sight focused on where you are jumping. Easy to see when they move if you sneak before doing the jump.
Shadowheart is killed to warp her in a burning box to the mountain pass entrance, tav is killed for infinite status glitch which causes none of the statuses (enhance leap, feather fall, etc.) to not go down outside of combat.
I'm confused, haven't played the game since honour mode was added, but don't you lose if you die? It looks like Shadowheart beat you to a pulp in the camp? That defeats the purpose of the mode doesn't it?

Necesarry for a lot of tricks and such. Killing a char turns their body into an item which is needed for many shenangians in the run. Things like teleporting to your dead charachter inside an enemies inventory for orin, or using it to traverse all of act 1 with a glitch involving putting your dead shart in a box and launchiing her to a specific spot.
They went up the brainstem with whole party invisible which causes them to be not in combat so when they use it as their first action it starts combat and skips the turn that you have to wait normally, they cast 7 stacks of "fierce perilous strikes" which you cant do normally so many times but they are using an infinite status glitch which makes their abilities not go down while outside of combat, they add 15 psychic damage per stack to your next attack and magic missile hits multiple times to apply the bonus damage multiple times.
It looks like such a cool run (also quite hilarious from a casual perspective), and your execution looks crispy, congrats on the WR!! (Admittedly I have no idea what I'm talking about, I only just started watching BG3 runs, but from just the footage it looks like it could be further optimized, if you were even more pixel-perfect? I'm curious where the WR will get in a year or two, with some more theorycrafting and/or more runners, this game seems to have so much potential.)
Could you explain what was going on at 22:32? What were you repeatedly casting and why were you moving the spell around? Also how did you kill the Elder Brain by just casting Magic Missle? Sorry, i dont do much speedrunning but im fascinated by this entire run and would love to just sit down and discuss it all so i could understand how each part worked. This is fascinating!
They are casting "Fierce perilous strikes" which normally has a 3 turn cooldown but due to a bug does not deplete outside of combat. They move the spell around because it allows them to make their next cast faster as it skips the animation after the cast. The "Fierce perilous strikes" that they cast adds 15 damage to your next attack, so stacking it multiple times causes your next attack to do 15 damage multiple times and magic missile hits multiple times which applies the bonus damage to each missile. In this run for example they cast it 7 times which makes each magic missile do additional 105 (7*15) psychic damage to the elderbrain.
