My family is from there. Love me some Rocky Mount! Let me clarify for y'all big city folk. When he says "I go out of town to club", that means jump on the high way to the next town. Thats the equivalent of you hoping on the expressway In Detroit, Cleveland, ATL, Miami, and other big cities, and going 5 or 8, maybe 12 exits to the other side of town or to the burbs. Its closer then it sounds. When the High School has a football game, its against the another towns team.
Good to see my hometown getting shine fr! Small city, but not a lot to do for younger ppl (that’s why all everybody do is get pregnant or shoot at ppl). I visit often but certain spots (like one of our hoods called Lil Raleigh) u don’t wanna be at late at night lol. I remember we had a couple shootings at the mall back in the day. Reach out man, I've talked to so many young boys in Hillsdale, Little Easonburg, Lil Raleigh, Tarboro, Wilson and I can go on. But what I'm saying is if one of us teachers 3 young men a piece being the"OG" in the neighborhood things would gradually change. Instead we looking at our own as the enemy, and only because that is what they're being taught watching is do it!!! It's crazy, but staying there I push positive messages to then, but at the same time not judging for the answer that they feel. While giving them critical advise on how to dispose of that fire in a manner that will upbringing their backgrounds (mom or grandma residences) so they aren't profiled but the police whole on their own yards!!!! IT TAKES ALL OF US OLDER GUYS TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. Sad thing is I have taught this to the young ones that will listen, I'm 40 and the youngest just graduated high school. He admitted that listening to the positives and negatives from me inspired change and growth from him. It's all in remembering ourselves at that age, and RELATING TO THEM ON A POSITIVE NOTE. I live in Rocky Mount and we definitely have more than 3 McDs 😄😄 what's funny is that I have no clue where they were during the entirety of this video however I didn't grow up in the hood nor live there now lol it has gotten worse in the city all of a sudden though. The Chili's incident was ridiculous! There are more high schools than what he named as well including Rocky Mount Prep and Rocky Mount Academy. Community College and NC Wesleyan University Clubs, you have BoatRyde, Platinum and some other place. We normally go out to Raleigh for that though.
