This is my first upload to feature a straight up Punk band and I'm excited to say it's New Jersey's Ammo. Coming from a state with an even bigger Punk scene than New York's and all four members being veteran musicians of numerous bands, you know they're not gonna suck.
Ammo are a four piece Hardcore Punk band from various townships in Northern New Jersey. Formed around 2017-2018, I first saw them in 2019 opening for Long Island's Blame God on the New York date of their Eastcoast tour. You can tell all four of these gentlemen studied Punk and Hardcore like some nerds who worked their fingers to the bone to get into Yale or Harvard.
The pace they play at is the maximum speed 80s bands achieved, but with more in the way of tight musicianship. A lot of punk bands rely on spirit and drive when they don't have the chops, but Ammo has all that covered. You know it's going to be good when the band boasts a drummer who knows his way around everything from Cryptopsy to Benny Goodman, a guitarist who knows to how to do those sick Punk leads with the power chords, a bassist you can clearly hear tearing it up, and a frontman with presence and a great voice for the genre.
By presence I mean mean mugging and yelling at the audience, while moving like one of those promotional inflatable whacky flailing arm tube men you find outside of car dealerships or some shit. He kills the fuck out of that while looking like John Brannon and Ian MacKaye had a kid. Also, I told my dude on guitar he looks like he's about to sell dope at Timesquare in 77 or he's up to no good at CBGB's (to put it simply, he's got the drip). The rhythm section on the other hand, looks like they'll physically eject you from The Meatlocker in Montclair for acting up (also drippy). All of this only adds to greatness that is Ammo from the Garden state.

And their bassist, Pasta, was in Altered Boys who released a 7 inch on Katorga Works, a top shelf label out of Brooklyn. Altered Boys called it a day awhile ago and Katorga Works has since decommissioned, but still a fire catalog:
