What’s crazy is they used to be an extremely popular band, they actually headlined the first ever All-Stars tour along side Emmure, they have really fallen off though with the fall of mall-emo styled music .
Когда я ин слушал в России, в глубинке, говоря, что это лучшее, что услышал, на данный момент. Лет эдак 10 назад. На меня смотрели, как на дурачка. Ну чтож, на вскус и цвет, как говорится
Ah if only to go back and be in the position of discovering Alesana for the first time. Probably my favourite band going. Their albums are quite diverse and it’s definitely not for everyone. But the thought and effort that goes into the lyrics of their songs is what drew me to them originally. This song Fatima Rusalka is part of their three album concept piece known as The Annabel trilogy. Which has their album “The Emptiness” be loosely based on the work of Edgar Allan Poe. Their other album known as “A Place Where the Sun is Silent” draws inspiration from Dante’s Divine Comedy. Finally, leaving their newest album “Confessions” find its source of inspiration from Madeleine L’Engle. If you’re going to listen and react to more stuff by these guys give the following a go: - Hymn for the Shameless - The Thespian - Lullaby of the Crucified - The Puppeteer - Through the Eyes of Uriel
Every member sings/screams but the 2 leads are Shawn Milke who does the clean vocals and sometime "clean" screams. Dennis Lee is the other lead vocalist and he does both high and low screams. The dude that came midway for that one part is a feature vocalist, Josh, from another band called Megosh. Lastly is Melissa who is Shawn's sister and she does features in few of their songs, this one included.
I was the one who requested this song lol. Thinking I should've asked for The Thespian instead of Fatima Rusalka but felt maybe they might like this better cuz it's heavier. Thanks again regardless guys!
Thank you guys again for the reaction! Completely understood the length could've been an issue lol. If you're ever able to in the future you should react to The Thespian by them. Much shorter song with a creepy horror music video theme! Much love again!
Ha this is one of my closet guilty pleasures 🤣 seen them live once in Atlanta in a tiny venue called the masquerade in 09 I believe, I was stationed like an hour and a half south and hauled ass after work to see the show, singer let me do some screams in the mic since I'm guessing he saw I knew the words 😂 oh yeah the bassist jumped off the top of a stack of speakers off the stage into the crowd it was hilarious ha and he says he's not a fan of longer songs....shiiiiit this was only like 6 minutes since the intro/outro of the video takes up quite a bit of time. but still when he said that immediately my brain said "if only we could get him to do black rose immortal by opeth....." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
