I say Captain Hook sets a great example on how he wants to get his final revenge on Peter Pan and fight him to the death during the ultimate war!, But I also 100% agree with you on that too! I love it every time When Captain Hook says: He'll Crow, He'll fight, He'll fly and then He'll Die, and then bursts out laughing!
I swear, Dustin Hoffman and Bob Hoskins were so great as Hook and Smee. I bet Walt Disney and J.M. Barrie would've been impressed with their portrayal on the characters.
@@EditorOfSL I am pretty sure the comment was in reference to the portrayal and how well Dustin and Bob played their respective roles as Hook and Smee respectively...not necessarily for starring in a Disney-released Peter Pan film, but just how well these two interacted with each other as said characters.
In my Opinion, Bob Hoskins was a wonderful actor in movies during his life, I also thought he was a terrific man too and the same with Robin Williams! I bet because he's in heaven now, he's probably being an actor there too!
I’ll always remember Bob Hoskins for playing Eddie Valliant in one of my favorite movies of all time, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”, but I can’t deny that his performance as Mr. Smee in this film was fantastic.
I say he was perfect to play Mr . Smee in Hook and the same with Eddie Valiant in Who framed Roger Rabbit too! Hook and Who framed Roger Rabbit are my favorite Movies With Bob Hoskins, Anyway!
What I find most weird is that if you really think about it this would be the ultimate f-u to any person you didn't like; make that person's children (the only people they care about more than themselves) and make them love you more than their actual parent. And while you can make the argument that killing their kids would be worse, seeing their kid not love/respect their parent and instead willing to fight for/love you more is even more depressing for the person you hate.
How can there possibly be 31 dislikes for this!? This is absolutely my favorite and most hilarious scene in Hook! Bob Hoskins absolutely nails it and Spielberg's spinning camera adds the perfect amount of humorous tension to this memorable scene. I show my students this as an example of a Malapropism, so here's to all the English teachers who use Smee!
Also notice how beautifully the frames are composed: when the camera is behind one of them during the discussion, their expressions are visible in Hook's vanity mirrors.
One of my favourite scenes in the film! I just the love the dutch angles in this sequence to give the impression of Smee coming up with a diabolical plan and I love it! 😂
I'm going to be honest, I had no idea that was Bob Hoskins because of the voice and the costume because the first time I saw him was in Who Framed Roger Rabbit and him playing this guy threw me off but I was very very young back then. Looking at it now made me realize how great of an actor he really was.

I love how Hook is like Scar, but unlike Scar, he's just a petty idiot who can't let an old grudge die. Dude is practically immortal, but all he can think about is killing Peter Pan because he made him look like a clown for a few years.
Hoffman and Hoskins are so good in this that it becomes a hinderance for the rest of the film. I just can't muster any interest in Robin Williams and the lost boys, all I want to watch are the bits with these two.
