So, Hook is meeting his future in-laws, while they're pregnant with his future wife, while singing about killing his ex girlfriend's ex-husband, who happens to be the mother of his friend, who is the father of his future wife's son, who is also the adopted son of his grandmother's stepmother, who is the apprentice of Hook's ex girlfriend's ex-husband? Anything I missed?
@@leemcgucken Yep. Colin said that the bit where he's standing on the chair, when he and the chair land, that's the point where he broke his foot. He then continued to do the rest of the song with his foot broken. There's actually a point later on, again according to Colin, where you can see him flinch from pain. I think I've spotted the moment but I'm not sure.
The awkward moment when you realize he's talking to his future in-laws while his future mother-in-law is pregrant with his future wife and he's also kind of threatening them. 😂
Season 1: That awkward moment when you have to arrest your mother on suspicion of murdering your stepmother, only for your son to suggest she is being framed by your step-grandmother (his adoptive mother) who also murdered your grandfather and your boyfriend, who was also her boyfriend, and whom she paid to kill your mother.

I’ve always loved how Colin was able to make Hook singing seem so natural like just a natural extension of himself. He sings it like he would have spoken it and I just love it

Drajon wow, ouat really lucked out. when the flash did their crossover musical with supergirl they only had a handful of people who could actually sing, many of which had almost nothing to do with the series (martin stein - legends, Malcolm merlyn - arrow). also the composers could only come up with 5 songs, 3 of which were just covers! but with ouat, not only did the composers write 8 ORIGINAL songs (and they probably had every opportunity to cover at least 1 or 2 disney songs if they wished to), but they actually wrote them specifically to suite the singing capabilities and needs of the actors!
John Hart - Martin Stein is originally from The Flash, and all three (Arrow, The Flash, and Legends) are in the same universe. And everyone who sang in the musical crossover can sing. They have a musical background. Not everyone, such as Danielle Panabaker sang, because she doesn't or can't sing. And you seem to be forgetting the musical scenes were in a dreamworld, created out of their love for movie musicals. A few covers were expected. It's not like in OUAT, which takes place in the characters' real life and not a dream, and OUAT flashbacks were in the Enchanted Forest! The Flash/Arrow is in the real world, with modern technology and entertainment. The episode was meant to be similar to Glee (which use covers) too, because Grant, Melissa, and Darren were in Glee.
A real Disney episode! I have another reason to love Hook: a handsome pirate who can sing really well. And can really sing "yo ho." Seriously, Colin has a wonderful singing voice.
Seriously, this show's cast is perfect. Actors and actresses who can perfectly play their awesome characters with wit and perfection and can also sing. How did Eddy and Adam choose perfect actors? And Hook interrupting his song with "Just wait until the second verse, luv" was hilarious.

Everyone is talking about how they were just like "we need a choreography!" but I love the fact that you can see that Killian embraced this fully when he said to snow "just wait for the second verse love" it was like "we've been working on this the entire day so just listen!"

Hands down! Love Doesn’t Stand a Chance is next for me, although hampered by trying to make the Queen rebel against singing by having her sing the whole thing ridiculously forced (she sings in the final song of the episode and it’s much better so she CAN sing)
The Evil Queen and Rumple have a good one too, where she goes.. "Now Sing.." and Rumple is like.. "The Dark One Doesn't sing.. I'd rather gauge my eyes out with a fork.." of course, it'd be funnier, if he sang anyways. I could totally see him rocking out to Be Prepared..

"Wait for the second verse, love" I burst out laughing at that part. I think it's really clever how they make this a musical episode, and make fun of musical fairy tales at the same time.
I love how annoyed Snow is when Hook kicks the pints off the table at the end, like, "Was that really necessary? Wasted beer, broken glass all over the floor, c'mon.."
Pretty sure that’s actually Ginnifer trying to figure out what happened. Colin (hook) broke his foot DURING this sequence. I think it’s when he steps on/over the stool towards the beginning
Dunno why but Hook manage to make this song about revenge sound like it came out of a Disney Prince... and like Emma I'm head over heels for this pirate who can sing and dance ❤️😂
I thought Colin was incredible before but to know he was injured for all this 🤯 seriously impressive! Thank you Colin for fighting through the pain for this song. In my opinion this is one of the best songs of the episode.
To be fair, unlike normal story Captain Hook, OUAT Captain Hook actually has a good reason to plan to kill his crocodile. Non-magical crocodiles are generally defenseless out of water, or asleep, especially when clock sounds come from their stomach. If anything, the crocodile in the normal Peter Pan story would have actually died of starvation because the clock sounds would in theory scare away all other prey, not just the one pirate.

Actually he would say he met her while he was pretending to be the blacksmith because the Blue Fairy made sure that nobody remembered that day so Emma could have the song in her heart and keep it for a useful time so technically he doesn't even know when he first met her.

Once Upon A Time is the closest to J.M. Barrie's original conception of Peter Pan. In JM Barrie's original novel, Peter Pan made a deal with a demon (the shadow) who would kidnap children for him. Upon puberty, about 13, Peter would cull the herd to keep his eternal youth. Captain Hook was a spaniard whose daughter Peter had kidnapped and killed, then taunting Hook by dropping her necklace back to him while he grieved over her. Hook eventually found a way to Neverland, a kind of demonic dimension where only Peter Pan never aged, by stealing an artifact. Neverland was also a place where everything there, from mermaids to crocodiles to pixies, would try to kill children, all wanting to gain youth. Some of Hook's crew were former, rescued lost boys while some are like Hook, grieving, revenge-filled parents.
Small Details: 2:13 "Then we've got a date with destiny" if you notice, Snow puts her hand on her lower belly, cause she was pregnant of Emma, a small detail about Hook's destiny with her 2:23 Hook seems to be in pain, that's because Colin hurt his foot when climbing the table, he continued to film even in pain
Charming has a more lyrical and powerful voice, but I prefer Hook's over his any day! Such a sweet and velvety voice, much more youthful and modern. I love and prefer Hook any way you look at him, whether it's acting, beauty or singing! ❤❤❤💋
