Great lesson, not many videos out there that cover this particular concept of hooking with options to toproll. In my opinion it adds alot of versatility to someone who primarily hooks and makes them way less one dimensional. If an opponent has it in their mind that you could potentially transition to a toproll or press fluidly from a solid hook its harder for them to set up easy counters. I think your breakdown match of Prudnyk vs Babaev demonstrates this a bit, watching a heavy hook battle, then Prudnyk quickly going over the top, and Babaev could not make adjustments in time. Great Video
derrent littor Also....when you arm wrestle the top roller, try not to let him get his hand high on yours, before the match. Keep your arm closer to your body. When you hook, curl your wrist suddenly and powerfully, and pull your opponent closer to your body. Don`t even try to pin right away....just pull him to you, strongly. And then, go for the pin.
I would add when you grip up try not to squeeze as hard (like a toproller would). This makes it easy to turn your wrist. Also with a "slight" lower grip you can shut down a toprollers rotation this way
