I just installed one on my 2012 Tundra and the wind noise is ANNOYING! I can't figure out why they advertise that they are made to fit specific vehicles when they can't even remotely get the front fairing pc to fit the contour of the roof! Other than that, love it!
Can confirm on the noise. I know they have a new version out now. I am going to make contact to see if they will sell me an updated air dam to see if that fixes the noise problem.
Still no problems? Still have it? I do. I also wish the wind noise was not as much of an issue with phone calls inside the truck. But it is SO USEFUL to have!!
Any update? Do you still like it and how are the rails ? I wanted to pick this rack up but was worried that the rails are limited as far as mounting stuff goes. Since they have fixed holes instead of slots
Still love my personal wind storm! I mount my fishing poles up there and soon my off brand recovery tracks will go on. I haven’t attempted to mount things on the side. I guess if I need slots I’ll make them? And I think it makes the truck look better.
@@GWBarker yeah I found a place online selling slotted T rails I could always add later with some modifications if needed. I pulled the trigger and got one. Great video.
How is it holding up so far? I know it's only been a few weeks but I'm wondering if there is anything that has come up since you installed it? Thanks for the video!
Holding up wonderful! I have a beach trip coming up and can’t wait to use it. The one thing that is noticeable is the wind noise. It isn’t deafening or unmanageable but you can definitely notice it. Like my own personal wind storm. Some may not dig it. I’d say go for a ride with someone who has a different kind of rack. That’s what I would’ve done differently I guess. Although, for the money I’d probably be where I am. I do like this rack.
@@GWBarker lol... Yeah, I couldn't justify spending much more for any other type of rack so I'm definitely happy to hear it's holding up well! Wind noise is just something I'll have to deal with. I probably won't be able to up my sunroof vertically as well but I never really did before. Question- Did you need to use the washers that you bought at lowes for any other place than those mounting brackets? Thanks!
@@ebx2323 No. Those were the only places I needed to use other washers. Yeah I haven't had any problem. The wind noise is just another I'll deal with. The people I speak to on the phone while in the truck definitely hear the wind noise.
@@GWBarker I wonder if you installed it on the lower hole on the mounts if it would have made that much of a difference? I'm going to install mine on that hole when I get them tonight
