Be nice to see a video of you going through what you do to prepare for a session, seen a few previous videos yoi discuss that you walk, search and prepare alot, would be good to get an idea of what goes through your head etc
Brilliant as usual mate, serious lump of a perch that last one. It would be the "fish of a lifetime" on the canal here in Edinburgh.! Made it out last Tuesday, switched from the tiny lures to juicy wriggly worms, still sodding blanked. 🤣
Thankyou mate 😁 and oh wait till winter you will be seeing some very big perch on this channel 😁 I'm dialed into winter perch now from last year figured em out. And oh man it happens though aye mate hope you have better luck next time 😁
@@TheoutbackUK times running out for me this year.! Unlike the perch in your neck oh the woods Scottish perch apparently like to have a winter snooze. I'll just have to keep watching your adventures through the autumn and winter.
As ever, another great video. You are quite correct when you say you have to put in the mileage to find the fish. If the fish aint there, move on. Keep up with the great vids.
Thannyou mate and yeah I had to say something as people think it's easy fishing but I'm walking 5 miles sometimes for one fish more if there not there. Thannyou mate will do 😁👊
Nice and Honest of you at the start not as easy as it looks. I've always said anybody whos made out to be a good angler there normally don't show the reality.
Iv had people thinking I just pull them out for fun but with specimen fishing I'm only catching often less then 3 fish a day only had one a day recently as the months are changing its getting hard and good anglers put in some serious time and effort mate and know when to switch and what to do to produce the best bite
When I was a kid and used to go fly fishing with my dad, hes used to go bonkers because I would disappear, he would catch me jigging small flys at this wear for Perch 🤣🤣. Such good sport and fight really well for their size.
Some nice perch there 👍. Been playing about with a baitcaster after watching your vids lately but much more of a learning curve than I expected, I'm just so used to fixed spool. Ordered a DF-50 as one i got from local store isn't cut out for light lures. What reel line would you recommend for bfs setup?
Oh yeah man bfs is a big learning curve but stick at it mate you will get it. And I'd recommend the Shimano scorpion bfs I have 3 of them there amazing and for fluro no higher then 6lb and for braid no higher then 12lb
Well done young man and another cracking video ... that last perch was a proper lump. What. Landing net handle do you use buddy? I’m after one that’s all and that one looks robust and just what the doctor ordered 😀😀. . Just brilliant. As always 🎣🎣😀😀
Thankyou mate. And yeah man still not the lump I'm after tho hopefully I'll get my 5lber on video 😁 and it's a spro freestyle net head and korum snapper Tele handle 😁👊
The Outback UK a 5 !!! Now that would be awesome ,,... I’m Still looking for my first 3 lb er !!! 😂😂😢😢😢.... you deserve it young man. All them hours and effort and not just for your pleasure .... for ours too !! I think everyone will agree when I say “ Thankyou “ ,.... also that handle will be on our lasses Xmas list ..... for MEEEEEEE !!!! 😂😂😂🎣🎣🎣🎣
Iv had a few 4s just haven't broke the 5 code yet and you will get it mate bigger lures get bigger fish man especially in winter don't be afraid the throw pike lures around for them. And thannyou man really appreciate it thannyou for being a part of this with me man you all make this channel what it is too it's not just me this channel is all of us 👊
I haven't in a while mate unfortunately. I'm gunna be back making videos from tomorrow but might be alot of educational stuff from me for a while. Fishing is super tough at the min and I hate the cold haha
Did I see in another video you were using a Shimano Scorpion? Would you be able to recommend a site for getting one and give an idea of the import duty?
I know which city centre you’re in and I won’t say however it’d be interesting if you could try a little further out of the city for perch in smaller rivers which lead into the main city river. Guess they should hold the same species. Second suggestion, you might be against it which is fair enough but live-baiting for them (lip hooking a minnow) could be very interesting. Sneaky and all most inaccessible locations are always interesting!
Thanks mate 👊. And yeah man I fish all over round here but have a few go too spots aye haha gotta have them. And I'm not against it I'm just abit of a hardcore lure fisherman if I can't catch on lure I can't catch haha. But I am Interested in giving it a go I have done it but find it to be too easy and no skill involved and for me that takes the fun out of it. And yeah definitely mate 😁
The Outback UK cool, keep it up anyway everyone dreams of a 2lb perch ha!! Different methods could definitely be interesting though, even worm on float too!
You're lucky that the River is gin clear, the River Weaver that I fish in Cheshire is usually a shitty turd brown colour. And the canal in Barnton is full of Red Diesel from all the boats. Got some Grubs and small nano shads to try at weekend though for the Stripey's man with ultra light 2gram mustard gig heads.
It ain't always like that. Should see it right now it's choco block and oh man that sucks the river tees is the same always brown. Oh nice one best of luck mate
@@TheoutbackUK primarily for perching. I know I could do with a solid reel as I'm using budget stuff at the moment. I was thinking a Roxani and a major craft rod.
The roxani I wouldn't recommend I had it and really didn't like it man. I'd say get a decent finesse reel as the reel is the workhorse and the most important part of suggest a Shimano scorpion bfs there amazing. And any major craft rod will do man
I have a few mate my newest one is a major craft days with a scorpion bfs but I have 3 scorpions. Got another days with a daiwa T3 air coming next week too man
Good bloody question. And when it comes to lure fishing it's all about placement not the lure specifically mate alot of cast and try be accurate with them
@@TheoutbackUK finding it easier on the canal then river definatly more pike in the canal but theres also a lot of floating weeds so i would probably go river because the canals jack paradise its a jack a cast near me at the moment
@@TheoutbackUK sometimes i go river over canal but i have never had a pike from the aire i have only caught jacks from the canal i always blank on aire no matter what species
Iv'e heard of trout tickling but pearch butt hole touching, a bit personal but if it work's then i'm open to learning as they say "every day is a school day" : ) Another great vlog with your great way of editing.
