e30's need to have oil in the tube where the shocks mount. Only if you run gass filled shocks like billstein it is not neccesary to put oil back in the tube. Check the shop manual 😜

This. And with Bilsteins you CANNOT use oil in the tube. The gas in the shock gets hot when compressed and it can boil the oil.

M52 swap, with a m54b30 rotating assembly. 3.0 liter inline 6, same crank as an e46 m3, arp head studs, turbo, injectors, fuel pump, tune for🌽. 6spd out of a 540. Upgraded suspension bushings, new brake lines, thicker sway bars, adjustable rear subframe, strut bars / x-brace. Steering rack from a z3. That's what I have planned for my 318is. Beautiful car Joey! Treat her right! Get some fog lights, and an iS lip!

if your going to upgrade the e30 add an e46 purple tag steering rack (did it to my e36 and omg its amazing ) fully poly bush is always a safe bet modify the rear trailing arms so you have 0 degrees toe for maximum grip a decent steering wheel

Those BC's are sick, what I am eyeing for my e30 drift build for later this year (building as fast as the money comes in lol). IMO, you should swap in the 325i/is m20b25 engine, drop some ARP head studs in, Oring the block/head , new head gasket, megasquirt, and boost it. Can make a reliable 300whp with the stock trans, upgraded clutch, an LSD out of a 325i, and you get to keep the retro BMW vibe. As one e30 enthusiast to another, I have looking into every engine swap under the sun, and realistically the m20b25 is a great engine and will keep the great factory weight distribution.

dont worry my e30 struts are completely blown to there most likely in worse conditions and my e30 is a 87 😢 any recomandations on coils or is it possible to go with bags whats pro and cons of both options

personally would keep the m42 if it's a genuine 318is, twin cam 4 cylinders are sweet, nice to keep the weight down. would be sweet to see it with individual throttles like an m3
