Hoopa All Moves & Hidden Mechanics Gameplay Breakdown - Pokemon Unite 

Hoopa is basically that scene from endgame where we thought the heroes would loose but then a bunch of portals show up.

I don't call this meta changing. It's literally meta destroying. There will be huge difference with players who play it with communication and random solo users. This may bring serious and huge change into this game now. Thx for the great video spragels you are always so helpful whenever I need help in this game.

I think Hoopas‘ addition currently absolutely destroys the game. Every match with Hoopa in it, is an absolute chaos. In professional tournaments where players can communicate with voice chat it’s great, but for casual players it’s a mess.

I dont think anyone has mentioned this yet but Trick makes it so Hoopa can give people more range so for example: if you use trick on a friendly Garchomp then that will make it so people can run away from chomp as easily because it has hoopas range of attack attached to it with shadow balls and basics flying out of it. thats pretty awesome and I cant wait to see how much it changes other pokemon with less range. EDIT: Kinda unrelated but imagine telling your team right before zap to go score, then you, as Hoopa and the only one at zap, Unite and bring your whole team in from scoring to take zap... thats pretty devistating if done right

Worth remembering that enemies can see the portals too. If they see you put one in the middle of a team fight or something they know exactly where to aim their unites and damaging moves for your return lol. You ALWAYS return to the centre.

Trick + shadow ball might be good for solo queue though. The moves interaction are good. basically you can hit enemies with multiple shadow balls at once

So _that_ was the deal with all of the strange battle items during the Christmas Event! They were testing Hoopa's kit! Or at least part of it; Everyone can remember the Return Smoke from the snowball fight, right?

Its magician ability also sometimes summon that speed boosting berry too

keep in mind, if you use it today your random teammates will go afk. for some people its hoopa or nothing. the same goes for the other team. i havent had a single match when nobody was afk today.

People are gonna show up out of the portals to help their teammates like the Avengers did with Dr. Strange in Endgame

Yeah this mon is insane and hoopa is the most diverse Mon ever released cause you can go offensive you can go full support com a mix heck you can probably do a defensive build maybe

Just so you know; the berries that speed you up are called salac berries. They boost speed by 1 stage when a mon reaches 33% or lower HP in the main games. (:

The game is all about dunking points on hoops and Hoopa is all about hoops so I see why they added it into the roster.

the crazy thing is, you get zap, hyperspace hole in front of you before score, causing you and your teammates to go back on defense almost immediately after score

This will of course be nerfed later. Trolls will send you back to base on Zap in random. In 5v5 this becomes absolutely meta. You're giving your team greater mobility than any other mechanic that exists in the game. Which is the problem with it.

Even in offline mode our teammates can't rotate properly like the enemy team 😂

How is this not the most important Pokémon to run on a team now? I don't like when a single character has that much influence on the meta.

I feel like 5 stacks might be having Hoopa on their team, being able to stay top insta warp to 2nd dred/rotom is going to be crazy

Yes this is game changing but you can already expect a nerf, if you really think about it, as long as they increase the cooldown and make sure Hoopa doesn’t do a lot of damage it should be fine

I just practiced with it. It's so crazy man. Using Phantom force and hyper is crazy for moving around. Just will take some real strategy and being quick with your moves. I'm not even going to try ranked for a while lol

I just woke up, this is exactly what i needed.

My biggest problem in unite was always winning one lane and having to go the other lane to win it, in that scenario the lane I leave loses. Now I can be in both lanes

I think Ally Pokemon should be given an option whether they want to use Hoopa Hyperspace or not.......

Devs didn't think this through before making a game mechanic so broken

Phantom Force can also be used on allies 39:29 Shadow Ball lowers Sp.Def, that could be why

Thank you for this tutorial! I tried Hoopa for the first time and I totally got confused, and defeated easily. This pokemon, once you learn how to use it, has a great potential.

Great video, another way to get play use like off line mode, is by use the Custom match mode, which has option of add nc player.

The fact that you can control when you use the ability is HUGE, and I'd love to see this used on Pokemon like tyranitar or Ninetails for AOE weather effects

Been stacking aeos cookie with score shield and using buddy barrier with that. Basically just team fighting and using those items for sustain and occasional stacking/scoring. I would use Sp. Atk Specs but I'm just bot sure how his damage scales

With hoopa added, I expect the meta to change drastically, and I think it is safe to assume destroying goals is going to be much more valuable since hoopa can't link the final goal P.S: the unite lasts for about 15s

I have a doubt about confusion so if a hoopa hits a pokemon it does and damage and the delayed explosion also does damage ti that Pokémon

The cool thing about the warp instead of basing is you can place it, and just as long as you get there before the clock runs out you're teleported immediately instead of waiting and hoping to not get hit while trying to base normally

There was this one time a Dartrix on my team was low, I summoned a berry for him and guess what he did? He tried to get the ones near the front hoops, and died. When the closest one was right in front of him.

Can anyone verify that can we use the "invincibility" with phantom force to goal in front of opponent faces with goal getter? I mean it's invincible and not unstoppable or immune to hindernces so it can't be hit

Can you phantom force then go through hyper space hole? Then phantom force back immediately?

Astonish could also be used as a defense. Timed well you can avoid a lot of opposing moves

IMO, Hyperspace hole/phantom force is great for 5-stack. Trick/shadow ball is the one to go to when you’re on solo queue.

Btw, you can use phantom force, go into hyperspace and use PF again so you don't get the debuff of coming back from the base

I really like that berry trick

I actually really like Trick and Shadow Ball. It's like a better Eldegoss which was already amazing.. Your normal DPS is pretty low, but Trick is incredibly broken for pushing early with Score Shield, and Shadow ball+auto attacks do pretty good damage with Trick up. It gives you a near constant slow while making you very tanky and mobile.. It might lose to Eldegoss if you go with 1-1-3 strategies but I'm definitely preferring Hoopa for laning in solo queue. Oh and Trick begins healing an insane amount to your ally at level 10. The link also lasts a long time and has a huge range.. Unlike stupid Guard Swap which is useless as an actual support move. The mobility, shield, and free berries from Trick and Magician also mean you can run X-Attack which is amazing with Trick and auto-attacks, but more importantly it increases your attack speed and power when Unbound. I definitely recommend Muscle Band and X-Attack if you go with Trick and Shadow Ball. Most of your damage comes from auto-attacks, Shadow Ball is mostly for the constant debuffs but it has deceptively long range. It hits quite a bit farther than it looks.

I hate playing on a team when there’s a Hoopla. Honestly it’s the worst when you just randomly find yourself transporting around the map without full control.

Trick+Phantom Force/Shadowball Is perfect for lane dominating imo

Hoopa ability also brings greedent berry to you if yellow berry isnt available

At 23:53 when Cram Alted and you used you gain shield of trick it seemed to redirect Crams attack to the wild pokemon. Or am I crazy?

Using Phantom Force to go back also ports you to a different location. You can hide in a bush, Hyperspace Hole, Phantom Force onto HS Hole, port to base, and PF back to the bush to avoid getting blown up by the enemy. Lol Pokemon Unite just got crazy.

You think it will be a valid strategy for all team mates to try score at just below the 2 minute mark, and then have hoopa summon them all at zapdos with its unite move?

Getting Hyper. Hole / Trick first at level 4 before Phantom Force / Shadow Ball at level 6 is my only gripe about Hoopa. It feels a bit awkward to have Trick and Astonish for 2 levels, since Trick doesn't synergize with Astonish at all. Having Shadow Ball / Confusion for those same 2 early levels would feel much better.

Hoopa def. brings an entirely new element to the game now... When a skilled player masters it...we're going to see SICK battles! I'll spectate.... As I've been doing since this morning...while playing that is...everyone and their momma is trying Hoopa without knowing how to use it's skills... Hoopa is truly unbounded in this game theres games I completely forget to use his unite ability he is a really good support unless your dealing with someone who freezes you or makes you flinch just always gotta make sure your with someone to really work on people

Muscle, E amp, Buddy. With the Hyperspace set for sure. I ran it with a fluffy tail. Unbound is broken! This is definitely a 3-5 stack set. I'm still testing the other build.

The great thing about Phantom Force'ing back? You're not popping up in the center of an obvious Red hole for the enemy team. It's better for team fights (slap someone, head back, heal, come back to the fight), whereas just Hyperspace Hole back is better for quick moves around the map. Your allies don't get the benefit of Phantom Force, though, so be careful!

The developer came to know that in soloQ people don't rotate so they fixed it

The best combo is shadow ball and trick because you can't die the trick heals tou the magician whole brings you a berry you heal

Already it looks super hyper ultra overpowered, to a point you must have one in your team and everyone will be fighting to be the one playing with it. Looks like it will be a Hoopa Unite game from now on, rendering every other pokemon a lower tier. With that said, Im not too happy about it. Ive seen this happen in other games and it just takes the fun out of it

Phantom Force + Trick is my favorite move set on Hoopa. But, Hyperspace Hole is probably a lot better than Trick in organized play.

When I first saw Hoopa I couldn't believe they had released a Pokémon with such defining abilities. I get a meta shift is important but to have a roster as large as Unite already did and to the add something as game changing as Hoopa is a do or die moment. Now having played some games I agree, it requires alot of co ordination and there is an incredibly high skill ceiling to this Mon. However You can not base the games we are playing today to where the Pokémon will settle. Players need time to learn to play and counter him. I will add to this though any "hero" based game that releases a new character that has unique and complex abilities that is good on day one is usually over powered. My initial mind set from a support main is that hyperspace needs either the ability to move teams between lanes or the ability to drop to base and heal, it's the combination of both of these that makes me feel it's broken. Imagine if eldegod could choose on the fly between leaf tornado or pollen puff, that's how it feels to me. Not a direct comparison I know but how I see it
