0:40 Did anyone notice the expression on Lilith's face after Hooty said _"Is this what regret feels like?? I HATE IT"_ ? I think she understands the feeling all too well...
2:18 gotta love when gross-out humor spares the audience from having to see it and just focuses on the hilarious ways that other characters react to it.
Is he wrong no no he’s not literally the entire thing for any category we got anime ships we got cartoon ships what’s next we got game ships to all right that’s probably a thing to our Beautiful hooty called out everyone in one sentence
I honestly don’t understand how people don’t like Hooty. He rarely gets screen time compared to most of the other characters, but every time he’s on screen, it’s glorious. The voice is SO good! It fits hooty so well and makes for some golden line deliveries. Also the concept of taking the “annoying/needy friend” archetype and sticking it on an “owl tube” is just something else.
I love how they showed Hooty as a crazy and awkward like extra that is desperate for friendship, but when he ends up with friendship, he actually succeeds well. Like as crazy and underrated as he is, you would expect him fail in friendship, but when he became friends with Lilith, it worked out great.
Even many characters especially eda king and even our with exception of Lilith don’t like hooty that much considered him annoying stupid and off-putting doof they tolerate him at best since they live in his house and just ignore him at worst
Hooty is the embodiment of the uncanny valley. And Luz gagging is iconic, I don't think I've ever seen any western animation with a character gagging and hurling in a true reactionary way and not over the top projectile rainbow.
you want early 00's and 90's; that was when animators finally realized they could animate gross stuff and thought it was the coolest thing ever. the real trick is finding an anime that acknowledges less than cute things can come out of cute girls.
You know, I really don't know if anyone but Hirsch could have pulled off the role as well. I would feel like too many VAs would get caught up in just trying to add to Hooty's inane crazy antics. But Hirsch seems to have a real grasp on how to keep Hooty from being too much. Like, Hooty is supposed to be a lot. But making that sound natural takes work.
I didn't like Hooty at first, but he really grew on me at one point. I can't remember when that was, but I remember liking him having tea time with the beaten up guards, and season 2 had some really good Hooty scenes. Looking back on these "Hooty once said" clips from both seasons, I just realized that his friendship towards Eda's sister didn't really come out of nowhere. He showed signs of wanting her to be a friend back in Season 1. That was a nice reminder.
So what you're saying is, the Owl House will start out good in the early seasons, but gradually become worse as the show flanderizes its characters beyond belief, relies more on shock humor, and have the author avatar character chewed out for being the worse person ever.
@@stormywolfhowls wait… you watched the movie before the books? The books are way better and the movie is also inaccurate although the animation and cgi were good you should have read the books first
1:51 Why do I have the sneaking feeling that this moment MAY be foreshadowing of Hooty sacrificing himself later in the show? Maybe even this season? 😳 Edit. I hate being right 😒
Important announcement about season 3! Unfortunately, Disney just shortened a large amount of screen time for season 3. Season 3 is only going to have THREE EPISODES. Each episode lasts 44 minutes. This was NOT Dana's choice; she had been waiting for the usual 20 episodes, 22 minutes per episode, and was not expecting a cancellation. (That's roughly 308 minutes of wasted screen time!) Good news: Dana said that there were still a couple of ways to change this. 1. Shaking The Owl House on Disney + 2. Sending physical letters to Disney TVA. (Send them a letter and tell them you want to see a full-length season 3. If enough people send letters, then Disney might allow you to create more for the show.) Remember, PHYSICAL LETTERS. Disney only responds to physical letters effectively. (Of these 2 solutions, number 2 is still the most effective) Information for the cards: Disney TVA's mailing address is 811 Copy this and repost this on your social networks! Spread the word while we can still change this! Before season 3 is too far in production!
