The Hoover LINX Platinum hand vacuum worked well for picking up a variety of small, medium and large particles from carpeted surfaces.
The motor was powerful enough to pick up these debris without leaving any behind. We also found that the motor did a great job cleaning messes on hard surface flooring. This is a great tool to have if you don't want to drag out your full sized vacuum every time you make a mess.
The LINX cordless model BH530 comes with three attachments that they recommend for cleaning pet hair. There's a motorized brush head, an upholstery tool and a dusting brush. There is also a crevice and brush tool located on the vacuum itself. We found the motorized brush head useful for jobs such as stairs. We also enjoyed the ability to grab and go and not have to find an outlet for the power cord.
The Hoover LINX hand vacuum has some rinsable film filters and you can see from our particle scanner that those filters are doing a decent job of catching those particles before they are released back into the air. See how the numbers on our scanner go down?
This vacuum averages a decibel reading of 83, making this vacuum moderately loud.
We were disappointed with the LINX performance in our vehicle. It didn't handle the contours very well and the crevice tool was too short to be able to get between our seats. It will do find cleaning mats and flat surfaces but will not do all the jobs in your car.
The upholstery tool on this vacuum is interesting. It had rubber blades that reminded us of a squidgy and you can see here that it was really inefficient of getting the dog hair off our upholstery and actually rolled it into balls instead of sucking it up.
