Le 28 mars à l’Alhambra… Le groupe belge Hooverphonic… On a kiffé du début à la fin… Chanteuse belle et sexy… Voix sublime… Guitares… Piano… Batterie… Violons… Violoncelle… Quel talent ! 👏🙏🤩🇧🇪
Thanks for sharing. How unexpected that the band remembered this arrangement! Hmm, an excerpt from "Swan Lake". This melody can be heard several times in the ballet, usually in the most important and dramatic scenes, and, of course, in tne finale. Could it be that the band chose "Swan Lake" because of some similarities between the endings of the ballet (in some productions) and the official video? Two lovers, the enchanted Swan Princess Odette (a giant plant) and Prince Siegfried (Geike), want to be together, but the appearance of the evil sorcerer Rothbart (Alex) leads to the death of one of the lovers and makes their happiness impossible. Maybe the band talked about the reasons for this choice?
Wikipedia: “In its Hooverphonic with Orchestra Live version, the song features the same opening as the Daydream hit from the also Belgian band Wallace Collection, and both songs feature themes from Swan Lake's final scene. This was an idea from Cédric Murrath, who is both the violinist from Wallace Collection's reformation and the conductor of the Hooverphonic with Orchestra Live”. (c)
Noémie's version with the orchestra was beautifully executed ♥️ Still, in 2014 she also sang a “trippy” version very similar to this one, I thought it was cool 🎉
