Shame , I also lost my hops, mainly due to my new neighbour deciding to pretend to be a mechanic and rev the bollocks of a old car for a week and they just fell to bits...... Had a friendly chat with him so hopefully he wont do it again..... Looking forward to next year..... for both of us....
I use hemp rope rather than string as it is a lot thicker and was good the first couple of years. Only problem is when the hops plants mature and get thick and wet they can break the rope. I might try something else next year.
