I am hoping that I will see the day that this breaks through to the mainstream and millions of people can find relief and new lives, like I did.

This podcast is particularly good at highlighting obstacles some people may face during TMS healing, and how to overcome those obstacles.

I would like to comment in reference to patients seeing a mind body therapist and also seeing a clinician for their pain and having to “choose a side” right around 1:02:48. I work in the physical therapy world and in my humble opinion I don’t think patients must choose sides necessarily. A lot of physical therapists are coming around to the idea of pain neuroscience and the benefits of cbt, meditation, calming the nervous system etc. Perhaps some more than others and the medical world still has a long way to go. But physical activity and overall wellness help improve outcomes and I think some clinicians do make up an important part of the team in treating pain.

Clinicians like physical therapists can also help patients overcome fear of movement and fear avoidance behaviors and other sequelae such as deconditioning which often accompany living with long term pain. Thank you for a great talk 😊

@@kristenlawson7060 Agreed. I have found a wonderful physiotherapist who totally gets the connections. She is firm and clear in her communication, has reassured me that I am not damaged for life but have gone into a pain/anxiety cycle, gives me very gentle massage to calm the over sensitized nervous system, acupuncture, physical movements and great advice. She is central to my healing journey.

@@elenikiroy That’s great you have a physiotherapist who “gets it” and that you’re getting the help you need!
