I miss treated my wife for the first few years of our marriage. A few nights ago, I finally saw the pain, damage and destruction I have caused. I hate myself, I have shame and remorse. I cannot stomach looking at myself. She deserves better, and I hope that this renewed journey in faith can save me. Please, God, help me be the man that she needs and the man I want to be for her.

Going through a hard time in my marriage right now. My husband just said that hes done. When he would get upset with me he would bring up divorce. We have 4 boys, the youngest will be 2 next month. He is struggling with his faith and i am trying to stay close to God. We need prayer.
My husband relized the same thing that he had went off to live with his mom hopefully as a vacation. He says he’s getting help and he cannot give me a yes or a no on if he wants our marriage to work because he’s not in the right frame of mind and healing takes time. All I want is him home for us and the kids… and or if we’re going to divorce. I suppose I should be appreciative he’s not completely given up. Buts he’s distant towards me, and he claims he’s happy out there. All he wants is to talk to the kids… I have people around me telling me that I need to be ready to divorce him. But I don’t want to… I want him home. I haven’t ate well in days that I have lost 10lbs in a week… God tells me to wait and give him space but I don’t wanna be held here 💔
Absolutely listen to what the Holy Spirit is telling you. BE PATIENT AND GIVE HIM TIME. DO NOT OVERWHELME HIM. LET HIM COME TO YOU. Pray for him and even more for yourself. Be patient and let God work. Completely ignore the people telling you to get ready to divorce him. Work on yourself. Love yourself. Take care of yourself. Remember, you are whole and loved without him. Be open and wait for a while, but don't pressure him. Give him time but also tell him it's not fair to make you wait indefinitely without a time frame or end goal. It's a good idea to set goals and time frames Seek people that love you and want to see your marriage succeed and tell you the truth. God bless you. Remember, you are loved just as you are. You don't need your husband to be whole and loved. You want your husband and he reminds you of what's already true. Don't put him on a pedestal or beneath you. I hope that God brings peace to everyone here that is in emotional pain. I too am in pain because i am a bad man and not worthy of my wife. I am sorry for all the pain that i cause through my always feeling hurt and scared. I do not want to live my marriage or life this way. I want to have confidence and trust in God. I know first hand that divorce even after your children are grown effects them horribly. My ex husband lived a 2nd life that came to light and he left us my children were both in early 20’s. My son became an alcoholic and my daughter addicted to drugs. It blew them out of the water because he stressed truth and integrity to them since they were little and then they found out he had this other life going involving many other women. 20 years later they are finally getting their lives back on track with God and love and trust. Divorce to me is like a death without closure. 💔

It seems with some, there are no room for mistakes! And if you make any, it's then over in their eyes! I took my vows with every intention of sticking through it no matter how good or bad! These women nowadays, it seems they don't believe in working through! I pray it's not the case with my wife. I believe she's stronger than she's showing me lately
And I can say that is the other way around in my case. My husband keeps threatening to leave he is using excuses of mistakes that happened more then 14 years ago. He is very resentful and he's not willing to forgive even tough he made huge mistake ones too and I did forgave. I just trust in Jesus and I pray that he soften his heart and he gives him healing and teaches him to forgive. We have 2 small kids and we all need him in our lives. If it wasn't for Jesus I would be probably totally destroyed but he is keeping me strong in the middle of the storm.
Love this. The only thing is I don’t believe that God wants anyone to stay in an abusive marriage. Unfortunately we often prevent people from escaping abusive marriages in the church, leading to long term negative effects on the victims including children who often struggle to develop positive relationships later on. The cycle goes on for a loooooooooong time. That’s not to mention the severe impact on mental health and sometimes death. The effects of abuse are often tragic. I pray that God speaks the church leaders and helps them to support victims of domestic abuse effectively. 🙏
I been with my wife for 61/2 years now we have 3 beautiful boys , I lost my way for a bit and stop being a great loving husband , a lot of people hurt us with there words in the past an it carry on affecting us because they where people close to us , now all these years later time has not heal but only made the cancer worst , the hate the resentment all that has bled unto our lives and had practically destroy our marriage , I am here because I refuse to give up but I down and out and heartbroken 💔 I mess up I started to take my wife for granted and didn’t understand her no more but I never meant to break hurt it’s just I needed my own outlet because she didn’t. Understand me aswell I was tired of fighting and not being at peace ok more everything was just overwhelming and I blew up I hurt her with my attitude and in actions and carelessness but I’m the middle of all this I never stop 🛑 loving her I still don’t but I cannot save my marriage on my own, I cannot heal her so I here seeking out the lord whom we both know of we met at church in our youth I was 26 and she was 18 we felt in love so fast and hard it was the most amazing feeling ever in the world .... I miss that love I told my wife so many times that’s all I ever wanted to experience that love we had in the beginning, I really miss her and our son was just born 11/2 months old and we have never been in a darker place we are literally separated and she insist that our love is dead but how can a pure love die, she cannot see past the hurt and bad times there was a lot of love and great times but no longer can we recall those but the thing is I know we have so much love to still give to each other I can’t imagen our love story ending like this , I am so hurt and sad and I can’t handle this pain , in moneys I am good but then I am down doubting everything, I know Gods got this but I am human an I fear the worst but please Lord help me see this through , help me change I’m the most realest way and be a man that is worthy and please heal my wife’s heart from any pin , hate, resentment she may feel and please God if it is your will for us restore our marriage and love , we are young and inexperienced and it’s such a mess up world , and it’s even worst when those close to us that are blood cursed with there words our marriage instead of blessing us with words of forgiveness and love instead of resentment and hate , I blame no one because I understand there human and they are our parents but it’s so mess up it’s sucks to have them hurt us instead of helpings us just for us not for there own benefit .... Maturing at different points in life? Pride? Anger? Perhaps your first & second actions ought to be 1) pray for him / you both; & 2) seek & fellowship regularly w other strong Christian women (wives & mothers) to encourage one another.
Had 2 beautiful baby girls with who is now the love of my life. We lived together for a short time before i left for selfish reasons. We stayed in this relationship for 10 years and never moved back in. I took advantage of her...for everything. I took her love for granted thinking she would always wait for me to man up. I was wrong. She is no longer in love with me and let me go, assuring me she will never reconsider. I deserve this pain for i caused her worse. I pray to god for her forgiveness. My husband wants to leave too we have 2 kids and been married for 20 years. I'm still trusting in God that he will change his mind and that he learns to let go of the past. i have named carolyn, who went to a rehab life care center( she had 3 strokes... she is no problem to me..i married her with god's blessing to allways take care of her ) , because she thinks i drink too much... i drink 1/8 of whiskey cokes 6-8 times a day... i'm never drunk.. my back just feels a little better ., now i do have a very old dog hard of hearing that can trip me sometimes...i started paying more attention to very old dog..lol.... my won't except my calls to bring her home after allmost 2 months... she has done a few banking things ..that are causeing some problems... we wants to go to assisted living to easy my pain... poor excuse... when it comes to her i have no pain, except the seperation from her..... i want her back home.. she is 77, i'm 67.. .... if it doesn't i may have to move on with my life..i never commited adultry... on her... ..i don't want a divorce but i can't live alone

So many marriages are run down because the other parties are always needing to be made happy from each other. And they aren't laying their lives down and carrying their cross and following christ. And it's usually becsuw they are getting an identity from something other than christ alone. And then they start naval gazing and becoming selfish. Instead of oh no my spouse is lost. And cry for them not because of them. And you don't need a prayer line. You need and they need to to be set free. Most Christians need a better understanding of why Christ died. I know it's rough but 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, "Pray without ceasing" God hears your prayers. Just keep praying sis. God's got you and He loves you. He WILL get you through this storm.
just think of how you wooed her in the first place, noticing her interests, taking an interest in her ideas and nurturing her feelings. Its the same in marriage. I would suggest looking for ways to show her that her feelings, needs and thoughts matter to you. You could start the ball moving by sitting down with her and simply asking how she is doing and what you could do to be a better husband, then really listening to her. A woman cant feel loved without being listened to and without feeling considered, valued and respected. Show her that you're interested in her ideas and be prepared to spend time investing in her, meeting her needs. Ask what her needs are. Investing kindness, attention and time in her is what makes her love you and is what won her in the first place. Wishing you all the best.
