That tar pit is a monster called malivore. Seeing how this video was posted 9 months ago imma assume you’ve seen legacies but imma explain it a little further. Malivore was created from the blood of a witch, vampire, and werewolf to create a monster that would consume all magical creatures (a dragon for instance) so it wouldn’t go and attack a random village and kill people. Since it couldn’t harm vampires witches and werewolves, it found other creatures as well. Until they ended up making it a puddle, (what we seen). But it ended up procreating and making Landon Curby, he is a Phoenix (he can’t die unless by a golden arrow). He wants to take control of Landon so he can’t die so he sends monsters out of him and sends them to go get Landon. But since Hope is in love with him she won’t let him go and die and be consumed. So to stop all of this from happening, she had to jump into the pit. Now, she knew she could destroy malivore because her blood is a fusion between her dads vampiric blood and wolf blood, her mother’s wolf blood, and her grandmothers witch blood. Her dad aunt and uncles were all witches until something happened to her grandmothers youngest son Hedrik, he was killed and she made them vampires so they couldn’t kill and it got rid of there witch abilities but the blood was still passed down. Making her a tribrid. But when she jumped in the pit, it didn’t destroy malivore, instead it weakened it. It didn’t destroy malivore because she isn’t a true tribrid yet, in order for her to become a full tribrid, she has to die, and feed on human blood in order to complete her transition and become a full tribrid. Continue reading this if you wanna explain how she is a quarter witch. Her grandmother Esther created black magic, she’s extremely powerful. As I mentioned previously, something had happened to her youngest son hendrik, and he died. All of her children were witches. But, she was devastated after her sons death and didn’t want any of her children to die, so to do this she created an immortality spell. This spell turned them into vampires and she had their father slaughter them to complete their transition. After she realized what she turned them into she hated them because they’re an abomination in her eyes. And you can’t be a vampire and a witch at the same time so they lost their witch abilities. But hope will be able to still do magic cause she is a loophole for it. Now, klaus is a hybrid because he isn’t Mikaels son, his mother Esther cheated on mikael. Klaus and hopes blood are the only cure for a werewolf bite and their blood is the only thing that can turn werewolves into hyrbrids. (Tyler Lockwood, and Hayley Marshall). Well to understand why she jumped into the pit you would need to watch the show. I'll explain it without spoiling it. The pit sends out monsters to grab a object or person. The pit was made by a witch, werewolf, and a vampire. It can only be destroyed by a supernatural that is all three. Hope is all three which is why she said she found her purpose, because since she is all three she is the only one that can destroy it. If anyone or anything goes into the pit it is forgotten. XD Klaus is a hybrid, Vampire and Werewolf, Klaus's mother was a witch, while none of the main family vampires can perform magic because they were turned into Vampires(That's why Kol when he was put into another body he was happy to use magic because he said at some point that when he was human he was a natural prodigy of witchcraft), usually you cannot be more than one, so when someone becomes a vampire if they are a witch, they will loose their abilities, except if they are a Siphon, like Kai Parker, Lizzy Saltzman and Josie Saltzman, which means you take power from something else, you Siphon it into your own body and use it as power, like Kai Parker you can also be a Vampire and a Witch if you are a Siphon because Vampires are magical creatures, so you can continuously take from your own body and use that as power. But because she was this very special child born from a Hybrid, when Hope was born, she was a natural Tribrid. Able to perform Magic as well as shift into wolf and vampire. In Legacies, Hope's love interest is a Phoenix, so I was wondering if they ended up having a child together it would be a Quabrid, 4 Hybrid, Vampire, Werewolf, Witch, Phoenix. XD
That black pit is called Malivore, a hell dimension. It erases supernatural creatures from existence. The only way to destroy it is from the blood of a witch, werewolf and vampire aka Hopes blood. With Hope jumping into the pit she is destroying the hell dimension and at the same time being erased from existence so no one, her friends or family know that she ever existed.

No lol she isn’t a banshee or a quabrid. That scream you seen was given to her by the hollow. The hollow possessed her when she was 7-8 because of how powerful she is. The hollow is the most powerful witch in the TVDU, while the hollow was in the womb the chief of the witches would cast a spell to enhance her powers everyday thinking she was going to be their savior but she craved power. So she possessed the most powerful being on the world, hope mikaelson. The blue scream is in the originals, she’s letting her anger out on the vampires that played a huge role in her mother’s death. And the second one (the clear wave) we see her actually keeping this ability and it’s a way of letting her anger out in sheer power. It’s a wave that destroys anything in its path in seconds. The hollow was destroying her from the inside and her aunt, uncles and father had to take the hollow in portions and go to the corners of the world and if they got close to eachother including Hope then events would happen and eventually, the death of all first horns (including Hope) so they split up and she didn’t see her dad for 7-8 years. Until Lizzie and Josie siphoned it out of her and put it into klaus and klaus killed himself with Elijah and all that and now she’s an orphan and yeah. That sums up hopes “banshee” ability.
