She was a great player, but a crappy person off the field, and in this day and age you need to be both. Way too many mistakes that took its toll over time which pretty much ended her carrier earlier than it should have. You don't call other apposing teams cowards, just because you don't like their style of play and you lost, you don't let your husband drive a US Soccer Team van drunk, the list goes on... LOL a great person on and off the field, goes to Alex Morgan, I have met her twice... The Captain gives her a two thumbs up! :)
i hate how the team treated her during the world cup. she was dealing with the loss of her father and dedicated it to her father and then they pulled her off the team and didnt talk to her or anything. im sorry but seriously thats so messed up. those arnt true friends at all

Scurry is a good keeper, but Solo is the greatest female keeper of all time. MAJOR failure to bench her for that match in 2007, how's it feel to be on the wrong side of history, Greg.
Just a shame she put a big stain on her reputation by drink driving with her kids in the car and then having a entitled spoilt bratt attitude towards the arresting officer
Who gives a shit if it hasn't been called in a long time? McLeod had the ball in her possession longer than 10 seconds on SEVERAL occasions, the referee(s) gave her warnings not to delay game and continued to do so, so that indirect free kick was warranted. If your goalie hadn't delayed game, the subsequent events wouldn't have followed. USA ~ USA ~ USA ~ USA
In my opinion USA v CANADA was the best match of the tournament.. full of action&drama. (more than USA v Japan...despite it being a gold medal match) I must admit Hope Solo is a good goal keeper.

Dont be cocky. I have been commentation, analyzing, and reporting football since 1970. US should have lost today against canada. A bogus indirect call against the keeper let to a bogus penalty kick. It was not a penalty because the Canadian player's hand were in correct position and what is morer important was that the ball hit her hand from a very close range. Could she prevent the ball form hitting her hand? no. therefore there was not intention and it was not a penalty. US would have lost 3-2

@EmeraldIsleStar She made many more saves than she did mistakes. She made more than half a dozen saves in at least three games in the tournament. She also made pk saves in both pk shootouts against brazil and japan which took place just 7 days apart. She made her save, and if her teammates could have sunk their shots that would have given them the win. Though I think anyone would have had a hard time trying to win 2 games in pk shootouts in one week in a major tournament.
why do caches screw people up like that that happened to me in the 8th grade i tryed out for mey school team and got cut for the worst person to play in goal im not trying to be cocky but i am 10x better than her i cried for days wouldnt try out for any other school sport i had no confidence left inside me i would always tell myself i cant do this im not good enough then after travel games and i had game making dession save i tell my dad only if coach saw that would her dession be different

this really got to me. When i finished watching this video, i wanted to cry. She went through so much to now where she is today. I loved how she said she was playing for eveyone, her family and for herself. I felt her pain after i saw the championship. I play rep soccer and i am a goalie. I know how the pressure feels epscially in the finals. We lost in extra time. I felt so bad and started to tear up and was about to cry. In a way, i have felt what she went through. I hope to be just like her.
