Yeah I think she was the most athletic and agile women gk and she had great reflexes but she didnt know how to catch the ball which caused problems like a lot of rebounds from long shots she could have caught and it was problematic in air interventions from cross and corners

How are her saves any different then anyone else's? A majority of them were her knocking them over the goal. Not discrediting her play I mean she did win the World Cup. But legendary...hard to call it legendary
Ya'll cant deny that Solo was the best in the game. And I still can't name anybody better. Sad her career with the U.S. had to end that way man. Miss this girl, can't replace talent like that..well the team has yet to find anyone who can at least match this type of talent.

She is the best ever, there's simply no question, so sad she went out that way, she deserved much better for the player and competitor she was. I wish she would have just kept her mouth shut so we could have had more time with her.
Hi all. I'm a british male and an Evertonian. I have to say that love her or hate her she is still the top USA goalkeeper. I know she fell out of favour and had some personal issues off the field but you can't deny talent like this when you see it. There are many male professional goalkeepers who wish they could play like this. I was very glad to see Hope doing some punditry during the women's world cup 2019. I enjoyed the tournament very much. She is the best goal keeper ever the world. She is the first keeper to reach 100 shutouts, and had 102 shutout in 195 games. So more of her 153 wins are shutouts, and the USA team only lost 11 games with her in goal, and had 27 draws.
That second to last save was monstrous to able to backtrack after getting wrong footed just shows how spectacular she is and then she still keeps the ball from going in after opponent slides to tap it in truly amazing

A lot of ppl think if your not diving it’s not a good save well the thing Hope was good at was knowing how to position herself so she wouldn’t have to make diving saves
Probably, one of the best goalies in the world, and that includes men's soccer as well. Hope Solo is like a panther. Her lighting reaction to the incoming ball and professional skills are just astounding! I always admire watching this young athlete and beautiful lady play!
I am not a girl. And i say, with all respect to you sir. Hope Solo wasnt the besst Female Goalkeeper of all times only cause of her reflexes and Saves shown here. What you have to count in is modern Goalkeepers do not only react. They also act. And this is what she was very good in. She cuts angles, shortens corners, had a great Situational Awarenes. And this is what she knew better than some of the Professional Male Keepers. So you can say she was better then some Male Keepers, simply cause she was playing a very modern and intelligent way of a Goalkeeper. I know some Males who earn theire Money as a keeper and hell... i would prefer her standing in the goal and not this Braindead idiots who can jump like a Tiger but never know where they should stand. If you watch her games you can see that her legacy does not come from Moments like the ones shown in this Video. They are only Eyecatchers. The Legacy is that often, she saved by simply forcing the attacker to one side. She chose which side the ball will be comming. And this is what made her legend. Not some fyling around.
God I miss watching Hope. When I was watching a match back when Hope was in there I knew we only needed 1 goal usually for a win because Hope wasn't going to let the other team score but now the team could lose after scoring 100 goals because they have NO ONE in goal. Sorry but that whatever it is just watches the ball go on by. Need a new coach and we need HOPE.
Damn I remember that game vs Brazil. Thing is.. The one in game penalty kick save ended up not counting and got Solo a red card for protesting. Marta nailed the retry. But damn. Brazil did *not* deserve that game and I'm glad they lost. Solo is vital in why they win.
What impresses me the most is that many of her saves bounce off and over the crossbar. She knows where the goal is by the milimeter. I've never seen her score an own goal because she's miscalculated it. I would chalk it up to a one-off chance, but it's happened too many times to be pure luck. There's no denying she's probably the best keeper the USWNT have ever had, at least to my knowledge.
I’m a keeper myself and I know how tough it is I just got home from a tournament and it was tough but we made it through. Hope solo is my influence to make myself better. Hope solo is truly the best goalie ever!😍⚽️Love you Hope.

You know Hope gets so much shit for having a "mouth" or "bad attitude" but its ridiculous the different standards that are put upon women athletes versus male athletes. I remember playing club ball I was 15 at the time and I was mad at myself for a stupid mistake I did and said "SHIT!" in frustration to myself as I walked back to the dugout the umpire walked all the way over to me from the first base line and gave me a stern warning to "WATCH MY MOUTH OR ELSE.." Fast forward to me watching my high school bf play for his baseball team and they're all yelling and cursing up a storm and that SAME umpire didn't even bat an eye lash after my bf yelled "FUCK!" after striking out. So I get where her attitude comes from. I'm sick of the sexism in sports!

This was well done and superior music choice. Mia Hamm may have owned the frontline but Solo owned the Goal Posts. She is A legend and incredibly hot. Damn shame the league treated her like shit and gave her such A lousy exit!
She should come back. Obviously, I don't her well, but if she's good at what she does and can keep her head in the game and put aside her personal thoughts, opinions, and life for 90 min. then I don't care what her background is. She should be in the game.
Back then when Brazil was a better team than the uswnt and still so unlucky. Now Brazil sucks and hopefully that's gonna change with Pia as a head coach. Anyways I miss Hope Solo. She was a hell of a goalkeeper.

I was and am a huge fan of Hope Solo. But this idea that we need her to win the World Cup is absurd. Until someone can show that they can actually STOP the USA ... there's nothing to debate. I think that whatever the opposition is, at whatever point in the tournament, the problem for opponents is going to be not being able to control the flow of play. The USA is going to play super-fast, control the ball, and drive the opponents into the ground physically. Chase. Chase. Chase. That's going to get really tiring very quickly. Plus, no one else has Alex Morgan.
the time when USA was by far the best team is gone, now there are at least four or five teams that can win the world cup, this team is not even close to be as good as the one that lost to Japan eight years a go.
