Four hundred years and the beauty of this music still finds its way to us... What an infinite experience. My humble compliment to both the composer and its interpreter!
I had to write to Hopkinson Smith on his website: " Thank you for the profound beauty that you breathe into your instrument. Please inhale that beauty as you play. "
To all this people who want the wars all over the world : listen to this music, incorporete beauty, kindness, calm and hope…Evviva la musica barocca ❤Grazie mr. Smith
Kapsberger ... one of those late Renaissance/early Baroque forgotten masters. Forgotten but always there. Smith is a remarkable musician who mentored other excellent masters esp. Rolf Lislevand.
I keep coming back to this and it's a little bit more soul -satisfying each time. Thanks so much for posting it, because I'd doubtless never have run across it otherwise and it's becoming one of my favorite works.
That Canario dance at 6:26 heals the wounded heart of any Soul; just by listening, almond trees are evoked in full bloom; pink snow petals gently falling on the dancers below! So MANY thanks to everyone who makes this BEAUTY possible!
Only Russians can phrase something in the way the whole world was created to serve them. Read people's comments. Try to express how important this music is for you. There is nothing shameful to say: "I keep coming back to this..." or "...profound beauty that you breathe into your instrument"... Be a human, Vlad.
The needless roast is so hard it is actually cringe. He just said it in informal funny manner, you don't need to sound elitist or classy to share sentiments on classical pieces. That is what makes us humans.
