I need to know how to set this hopper. My tv is not connecting so I can watch my tv.there is nothing in or around my satellite dish. I’m disgusted this night 2 days tv out of order. Dish agent hung up on me and has my phone number to call back☹️none of the stuff on video happened at my installation ☹️and I pay on time!!! I need help looking at CBS in 20 minutes 🤔☹️
after being in the field on my own for a while now ive definatly noticed that this is pretty much the best way to do the install and stay productive throughout the process. However I am hoping that in the future if they update the hopper/joey systems that the entire reciever setup process goes a lot faster. Like when you hook up more than 1 joey to a hopper the guide update requires you to restart all receivers to get them to see each other properly
I want to move my receiver downstairs to TV 2. I thought it would be as simple as taking the box downstairs and hooking it up but when I install the box downstairs on tv 2 I cant get it to work. only DVR will work no TV can anyone help. I don't have the hopper just dish network one receiver for 2 TVs
what happens is that when the technitian conncets and sets everything up it has a location id so you are not able to move it around without authorization from the company
Eduardo Suarez This is not true. Otto Thompson, does your TV1 location have two wires coming from outside the home or one? On the back of the TV1 box, is there a Triplexor? That is, does it have a silver looking box with three wires connected on one side and one wire on the other? It's a long shot since you posted six months ago, if I will get a response.
+Eduardo Suarez not at all. He just needs to switch inputs on the diplexer. . Switch the coax around . Input needs to go to UHF and the old UHF Coax to input. Then your good to go. I get these Trouble Calls every so often. DSN tech.
what is happening is the coax cable for the new room is not connected to the main splitter outside that the dish's coax cables are connected too. imagine trying to wash your car with a water hose that isn't connected to a spigot. no water.. same with the signal..your coax cable simply isn't connected. what you have to do is "tone out" or "identify" what cable outside at the connection box is the one that runs to THAT NEW ROOM. you can purchase a "toner" set at lowes for about 19.00. you take one end of the toners and place it on the end of the coax in the room and you go outside to the connector box and test each unconnected line until it matches the toner color or number inside. Then once u have identified that line u have to hook it to the splitter. this is where it gets tricky. I would "tone out" the line coming from the room you are moving the receiver FROM and unplug it from the spitter and plug IN THE line to the new room that u just found. then-it should work. if I doesn't it could be a couple things...one, a bad coax line with a cut or splice in it or a bad fitting on the end. long story short-call dish and have then come connect that room...
Dude your way off. First off you can't use splitters for tv1 and tv2. 2nd he don't need to tone out the line, he said he wants to move the receiver to the tv2 location. If the system is diplexed all he needs to do is switch the cables around on the diplexer.
When will Dish add this feature to the Hopper DVR???? The Ability to password protect the deleted programs Menu. I have kids who like to delete others programming and after they do they go into the Deleted Programs folder and delete everything from there also. Getting really annoying. We argue so much about that but it still happens on a weekly basis... Come on Dish, put a new feature into the Deleted Programs Menu -- PASSWORD PROTECTION and only the bill payer can set the password. I'll be waiting.... and praying.
Yeah, modt folks are moving voip or getting rid of landlines all together. Its a dying technology. And yes I've been bud y with the new job and new house. If you guys want to come visit some time it would be awesome.
What is the purpose of the Ethernet connection on the Joey? I have the Hopper with 3 Joey's and it all works well, BUT what is the purpose of the ethernet connection on the Joey's?
