It was not only visually stunning, but also soul-warming.🌞 The segment effectively depicted the characters' sincere friendship, showcasing the sweet moments of a school romance, endearing jealousy, and funny encounters. Not only that, but they're going to get pretty busy, preparing for entrance exams and interviews to get into colleges and universities. It's a big year for them.
0:08 don't worry about it, you're pronouncing it perfectly. 1:12 the scene is easy to gloss over but when you think about it, Hori must feel really comfortable in Miya's presence, to sing like that. 6:56 well yea but first she had to mentally exhaust herself and create several machiavelian plans in order to find out Miya's name 😂 12:25 by far one of the most frustrating scenes in Horimiya but on the bright side, it gave Miyamura the chance to defend and help Hori, which was really sweet. 15:36 the tables have turned 😂Hori was a little savage! This will keep gettin better and better with each episode and the best part is, it also breaks plenty of anime tropes, especially romantic ones. Thank you for the beautiful reaction ❤
the part where he gives her a cd set or wtv it was, the part about "how'd he know that this was what i wanted?" is because, in the manga, she asks herself while alone one day, i think shortly after when she had been singing the anime song, what songs miyamura likes
what makes this part better in the manga is that hori is feeling even bad cuz she received a form to write about "what would be your future university/job option", and ended up loosing it days before the due date (apparently they take this a lot seriously there) and if my memory is right, miyamura finds the form and give it back to her after that such a cute moment
(All of this is as I understand it from a little web research to satisfy curiosity raised from anime/manga consumption and may be lacking in completeness and/or accuracy...) Expanding on what @mezacharia said, the Japanese school year is three terms per year starting in April and HS is 3 years. Primary/Elementary School is 1-6 (or K-6), Middle School is 7-9 (3y), and High School is 10-12 (3y). They go year around with a spring break of about 1.5 to 3 weeks , a summer break of about 5 or 6 weeks staring in late July, and winter break of 1.5 to 2 weeks. (In anime you will often see cicadas as a visual cue that it is summer and then you may see dead cicadas signifying that summer has ended. Spring, and the start of the new school year especially, is often signified with cherry blossoms.) Additionally a fairly strict rule is that you go into the year that is current when your birthday occurs. This means that if you have a birthday in March you will be in the next higher grade from someone whose birthday is in April of the same calendar year. Unless you are held back or are some _exceptional_ genius who skips grades you will be 18 when you graduate high school. At the END of grade 12 you will be 18, 11-->17, 10-->16, 9-->15, 8-->14, 7-->13. It is _similar_ to that in the US but since the year starts just before Labor Day (1st Monday in September, I believe) the cutoff is sometime in the summer and advanced placement is more lenient. Also, since the US school year ends in May those born in the summer may only be 17 when they graduate high school. This was the case with me and my July birthday. I have read that parents-to-be expecting right around the cutoff day may either try to speed-up or delay childbirth to get their child into the year they deem more desirable. Some would prefer that their child finish their education as soon as possible at the expense of being the youngest in the class, while others would prefer that their child be the oldest (and most mature) in the class to hopefully have an advantage in understanding materials and ranking among the highest in the class (and hopefully gaining entrance into prestigious universities).
