In forbidden west there is no auto dive but you can dive manually into any body of water by ruining pressing jump then immediately dodge it’s quite realistic looking too.
Although some graphics, animations, and features were added or improved in Forbidden West. Zero Dawn seems to have better particle effects or explosions with some weapons and effects in general. It's a weird two-steps forward and one-step back scenario.
Environmental texture have been improved in most areas, foliage density have increased, colours are more vibrant but the red bushes physics doesn't seem as nice as the first game.
I have noticed significant improvements in controls. It feels way better than the first game. On ps4 pro Zero Dawn goes very blurry when you move your camera or start running, they fixed it in FW
It lacks a lot of interaction with the environment. and the starry sky and the weather changes is a fundamental part of the game, it is one of the parts that attracts the most attention.
It seems like the devs cut a lot of corners to make it seem realistic. For example the first 30sec, the snow coming off the bush turns into a white flower petal.
That's true that the fire effect spread in zero was kind of 2D but it's more real than in forbidden west and fire should take its effect when hitting the herbs, trees, and all matters in the environment like a real modern game.
Why? Guerrilla removed the great RAGDOLL PHYSICS from the dead robot corpses present in Zero Dawn. Now in Forbiden west, Arrow hits or other weapons hits nothing interacts with the robots dead corpses. Now when you kill a robot it's just a static rock that doesn't react to anything. No RAGDOLL? Why?
also in the previous game with your "horse" that robot that is like a deer/bull you could ram the corpse of any robot and move it and it was a very curious detail. Like a bull ramming a parked car. But now, you can't do it, corpses are static rocks that don't react to anything.
They did ? Too bad, i remember when i had a ps4, just breaking the robot's corpses for some reasons. Tho... Aren't you a bit overreacting ? I mean, it's not like they removed ragdolls or details from the game. A more important thing they removed is the diving animation when jumping in water

I'm not saying what they did is totally perfect but holy hell you're overreacting as if the whole game was based around the way the corpses move. And synthetic robot muscles ? How is that related to ragdolls ? It's more about the models wich are now either the same or significantly better.
Machines actually seem more realistic and alive in zero dawn, they even look better. And combat physics seem to be more complex in zero dawn, machines react better to arrows and damage. Idk how i feel about forbidden west, its kinda meh
No doubt there are some downgrades BUT the story and side missions aswell as subtle gameplay improvements more than make it way better than the first game. My goodness, the first game was boring af but beautiful to say the least.
I think we should wait for later updates before comparing the 2 games at these levels of detail. horizon zero dawn is several years old now and has had several updates, and horizon forbiden west has only just been released and has had very few updates....i sincerely think the game will improve over time. over the next few months, and this is when they will have to be compared (because the hardware does not do everything as many would like to believe! Optimization and mastery of software at the development level is essential, and this takes time. time as always...)
@@edsondisouza ok....the game industry makes updates but they spit on us....damn thinking. all the objects of our daily life undergo changes/revisions/updates, it's no different for games... the game industry would spit on us if they delivered the games to us as is without an update! (and unfortunately there are a few)

Yes, people think that more particules and flashes means a better physics. Whereas it's almost the reverse situation ! It's satisfaying maybe, but not realistic at all. 90% of things shown in this video are better on FW. Some comments are saying it's a PC VS PS5 comp' also !

its more like dlc, new story for old game. They should do it as a actualisation for 30 bugs than new product for 70. Now have to wait for PC version to see real potential.

Wonder why they didnt support just the Zero Dawn with the updates and dlc's If they used different engine then understandable. They improved a little bit somewhere with the new game, but not drastically from the previous game.

Forbidden West = choppy slideshow Zero Dawn = rock solid fluid animation. How I'm the only one mentioning this, tells me alot about the general level of stupidity present in the gaming community. alot of scomments asking "Is this PC vs ps5?" Nono, this is horizon zero Dawn on ps5 running at a completely static 60 frames per second. And a forbidden West on ps5 in resolution mode, running at a very unstable 30 frames per second.

We are not looking at still pictures here my friend, this is an action game with moving picture... Gosh But yeah if you wanna get a nice screenshot, definately put it in resolution mode first.
FW is a crap. They made it just to milk money a little more. And I’m sure because some big corporations want some money too. That’s why you can see less heart and soul in FW. To me some graphical tweaks is nothing. Zero Dawn is amazing, polished, vibrant, beautiful game. FW is just soulless washed out color picture of just good animations in characters, which is absolute not really important part for game. Game. Not TV series or whatever... FW sucks
The graphic looks the same only if you are watching it on youtube. Because I replayed zero dawn last week and started forbidden west yesterday and even in performance mode on ps5 the game has a much better graphics than zero dawn
Yes, with the ragdoll physics that was kind of existed, and they have to enhance and emphasize the falling physics and other things of the overall of the game.
