Forbidden West is a huge improvement over Zero Dawn (except in terms of story). However, Zero Dawn was ahead of its time and still looks impressive today. Can’t wait to play the Remaster!
I have both games on a PC. Zero Dawn looks better. Not something that can show on RU-vid. Side by side don't do it justice because Zero Dawn FOV can be set larger.
@@abdallahbaloch the colors with FW is either one color or another whereas ZD has different tones of the same color. Also ZD has more granularity in detail. FW has more variety though. In contrast, ZD looks more real, FW looks more like a cartoon. I'm play on a monitor, PG27UQ, 1000 nits, and is always better in HDR.
@@0x8badbeef I definitely agree that HZD has better color grading in some areas. Though I hate the orange hue in areas like meridian and the jungle. HFW handles deserts and jungles much better in my opinion, but it is often too saturated in other areas.
@@abdallahbaloch in layman's terms FW colors just don't look right for the lighting and the material. It is like they are emissive. My monitor is also a quantum dot so colors have less irregularities to variations in brightness. But technically, it looks like they had to dumb down the bit rate. Aloy moves much faster in FW because of the flying otherwise the streaming won't be able to keep up. Mind you, this also has to run on the PS4. To further dumb down the streaming the chroma looks like it has been dumb down to either 4:2:2 or 4:2:0. If this is over your head I can explain further.
@@0x8badbeef I get most of that, but your understanding is definitely much more than me! 😅 let's just hope the remaster keeps some of that darker tones zero dawn had. Also, yeah, colours are definitely off for some materials/lighting + I get how bit rate has to be slower for faster travel.
