Veneer cut like this is of much better quality than peeling turned logs, the downsides are also obvious. It's much less efficient, and the pieces will be a lot smaller, but there will be no stress from the wood essentially being flattened from a roll.
@@flambo1234HD the patterns will be different.. most round would give almost no pattern. while this method give cross section picture of the logs layers.
