A follow-up of my video on Hornady Powder Scales. If you'll recall, I had a serious problem with my balance beam scale. Hornady replaced it with a new one and here's the result. Experience Level: Beginner
I bought one of these and it's repeatability is awful. It's useless. It sticks. Check it with a 15 grain check weight 5 times, I get a 0.75 grain deviation between each weigh. Ok went Ohaus digital in the end and put this rubbish to experience. Hornady lost a customer.
I’ve used hornady balance beam scales ever since I started reloading with 0 issues. I find that if people have complaints about these scales then it’s not the scale it’s the person using it. 🤷🏻♂️
@@basketcas3717 So far Hornady has been good to deal with. Mine had a burr on the balancing edge. That makes a microscopic flat edge, resulting in equilibrium at different points for the same weight. The accuracy of the balance requires a symmetrical edge. Sir, manufacturing defects exist. I assure you it is not always user error.
@@basketcas3717 I have a question. If I set this scale using the screw to zero everything out then it measures fine once I take the pan off the back and pour my powder and move everything back to zero then its off why?
