It compares Bullet Seating from bullet to bullet to bullet from the Ogive. If you want to do more precise reloading just measure all ur bullets before reloading into a cartrige and go with whatever is the best for your load and rifle. So for example: If you measure 100 bullets and 40 are all at the same measurment then load up 5 and see how it shoots at with ur load u use and Seating Depth you chose. Then take the remaining 60 bullets out if the hundred and again measure them and put them in pikes of the measurements you get. Then load up 5 of each different measurements and see how the shoot with your load and seating depth. Issue will always be some bullets will be longee or shorter mayhe by 1 to 4 thousands of an inch, so u will never have similar Overall Length, except when u Seperate ur Bullets as i describe.
I have only the .22 insert and used it for my .308. It works since all it does is comparing the maximum to the desired seating depth. If same bullet is used, I am not sure why it matters to have larger caliber inserts?
Ya I looked closer and he is right. I thought it looked like it was past the 3.1 mark but I backed the video up when he was moving the slide so I could see where it stopped. Thanks. Maybe i need new glasses.
