Hornbeam Hedges 101 - How I grow and maintain our 200m+ of Carpinus Betulus hedges

It is time again to spot a lovely autumn day, get out the hedge trimmers and give those hardworking ''windbreaks'' and ''privacy screens'' a good annual haircut! All the birds have fully finished nesting by now and depending on the weather, this job is ideally done on a dry autumn day (for me between September and November) while the leaves are still on. A great way to crisp up these large structures before the winter sets in.
