The Art Deco station building and signal box are based on prototypes at West Allerton Station.on the Liverpool Lime Street - London Euston run. +. 4 lines out of Lime Street , thru Edgehill Station ( George Stephenson ) then onto Mossley Hill ( having gone under the bridge at Penny Lane - Fab Four😅) , and then onto West Allerton, onto Edge Hill Railway sheds ( long gone) still four lines as far as Ditton Junction Red Rose was the Express Train to London, often hauled by City or Duchess Cla I recall Jubilee Class.also. " its a Jub us young train spotters would yell " . The lines 3 and 4 would be used by freight 8F and 9F hauling coal trains to power stations in Liverpool Also this line used for trial runs by the big blue Deltics with yellow chevrons on their nose. All this in my school days so retro - nothing since 😮. Joined the Army family moved a few times but detailed recall. Great Grandfather a driver of the mighty Caledonian Railway.
