We take a look at The Beatles 'Yellow Submarine' Eurostar and Simon Kohler discusses why this is a must have locomotive!
Along with the remastered version of the film that was released in cinemas and on video, the film which had not been available for over a decade included scenes that were edited out of the original, while the album featured new mixes of songs, such as ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ and ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’, the first such time a Beatles album had ever been remixed.

A Eurostar train which was due to be scrapped ran briefly from Waterloo with Beatles Yellow Submarine vinyl decorations applied to it. Few people would ever have seen it. The few photographs taken of it indicate not a particularly good standard of the artwork and it was more of a publicity stunt than anything else. However, this Hornby Beatles Yellow Submarine train has been decorated to a good standard which is better than the decoration on the full-sized train from which the model takes its inspiration! On the full-sized train, the power cars were not decorated, but on the model they are, which looks much better. Although it is a fictitious train, as a Beatles fan, you've got to have one!

Once upon a time, or maybe twice------over the sea it lay, or lie, I'm not really sure If anticipation is perhaps the better part of waiting then I am excited! I ordered and paid for this in March with a promise of Summer 2020 delivery. Later enquiries stated September, then Autumn. Well September has come and gone, Autumn is well and truly here with no siting. Perhaps the blue Meanies have had a hand in the deliveries? Love the idea (well done Hornby), love the Beatles (overrated??)and will love the train, when it arrives!

too modern for me this euruostar, i grew up with the beatles so would like to see a mk 1 coach in this colour. but well done to hornby for making these.
