The first time Hornby will have produced a British Rail Inter-City 125 as a full train set of any gauge since 1996 the 20th Anniversary set (High Speed Train HST) and 1996 and 1997 the uncatalogued "InterCity 125" train set. Also the first time Hornby will have produced an original livery Inter-City 125 as a full train set since 1983.
@ryanohara476 and it tempts me to collect the TT120 models because of this year's starter set, but too much OO to still get from last year 😪 1997 uncatalogued set ? Would you mean the GNER set ?
@@mangleytown yes TT:120 is amazing! No it wasn't the GNER 125 set released in 1998. That one is fantastic too that one was also uncatlogued. I was referring to R901 InterCity 125 Train set it was two BR Class 43 HST powecars and two standard open MK3 coaches all in BR Intercity Swallow livery. It was uncatlogued and available in 1996 and 1997. It was almost identical to the Hornby 20th Anniversary High Speed Train 1996 Train set the only difference being the running numbers on locos and coaches. It ommited the BR MK3 buffet carriage and it wasnt limited edtion so no certificate. Its amazing how many uncatlogued Train sets Hornby have released through the years including the Football Special and The Duchess. 😁
@ryanohara476 it was a release for Kays catalogue, there's supposedly a R901N set for another catalogue chain, but I haven't come across one of those yet.....
@@mangleytown Kay's catalogue! My mum was with them and Littlewoods and Feemans! Yes the uncatlogued sets were exclusives with retailers. My mind must play tricks on me. As I assumed I saw it in the Argos 1996 catalogue. But that was only in Industrial Freight and Intercity 225 train sets, I must have seen the Hornby InterCity 125 set R901 in Kays autumn winter 1996 and or 1997 then catalogue. Thank you for finding that out! Yes the Hornby R901 InterCity 125 set is also referenced in all editions of "Ramsey's British Model Trains Catalogue" by Pat Hammond as 1996 and 1997. 😁 I'll have to try and buy a digitised copy of Kay's autumn winter catalogues from 1996 and 1997.
@@ryanohara476 Pat Hammond has become a God for me in my catalogue collection OCD/collectors gene hunt lol His story of Rovex series of books are an immense read too, and those Ramsey's guides are a back bone for my HST collection, although I'd already got a good Hornby and Lima catalogue collection for my HST research 🙂
