Russell's opinion on this matter is worth about as much as any other Anglo journalist, which is to say not very much. You'll have a guy saving the car in front of you or braking slightly earlier than usual, and these Brackley drivers will try to convince others they just got brake tested.
@perpetual_bias

try to convince by pointing out things like "he never did that move in any previous lap". it's like yeah, it's called the "last lap" for a reason: overtake opportunities are running out

Russel struggles to sustain a high profile chase of a high profile driver. How many times has he crashed in such a situation? Sainz last year, Alonso this year are some examples. Mercedes would be wise to sign Sainz before RedBull would.

The FIA has set a dangerous precedent in penalizing someone for driving a lap unlike those before. Yes, it is dangerous, if the following driver is not paying attention. But now, every time a driver rear-ends the car in front, it will be the leading driver's fault. Similar to when Lewis opted not to pass Max before the DRS detection point and Max brake tested Lewis. Both were at fault!
@TiagoSilva-rv2ws
@TiagoSilva-rv2ws 7 месяцев назад
different case, those two turns are very fast corners, if you are chasing and have your and the other driver braking points down and pushing to overtake him soon, him letting off throttle 100 m prior and touching the brake will make you come up to them way faster than it should, it all creates a chain reaction just like we saw. the penalty was fair and its a case by case thing, intentional or not its up to FIA to determine if what he did was reckless or worst case scenario intentional. if you dont agree with the decision go on a track have someone in front of you brake way before they should while you are going 200 kmh + and tell me what happens

Lulu retiremilton, lol He is past it, he isn't alphalonso, can't develop a car and never has been able to, if he is that good maybe he should drive at Alpine and help them sort the car, he can't because he wants it given to him on a plate and that's the only way he can win, he hasn't had a win since Saudi '21 yet George took the 22 Brazil win....I bet that made hypocritemilton cry like a bitch in the debrief. After losing Lewis and now seeing neither George or Kimi is quite ready to lead the team they may need Alonso for immediate results, but will he want to go there now with how bad the team is?
@jamiewilson3599

I never bought into the Alonso/Merc hype. He won't jump to another team unless it's near guaranteed to have the fastest car. That leaves Ferrari and RB. Unless Max walks, Fernando won't go there. And Ferrari is full. Alonso has a long-time personal relationship with the Strolls, and as he's shown with Flavio, he sticks with his friends. I think Fernando is more convinced that his best shot is to stick with AM, as it is still getting better every year, and will soon have Honda power and the best and newest wind tunnel of all the teams. What I'd love to see is Lance 'persuaded' by his dad to take over the WSC/LeMans effort as that #1 driver and team head, and fill his F1 seat with Sainz. Far fetched? Maybe *grin* but not so much more than Alonso jumping to a Merc team that's getting worse each year, or an RB team that's awash in controversy and internal power battles.

If it means kicking max out of the bucket to put Sainz in, then great. If it means taking the 2nd seat away from everyone else and ensuring the Sainz-Verstappen father's start beefing with each other instead of you, thereby granting you breathing room to deal with Marko and get him out of the team and dismantling that clause he illegally put in that says "If Marko goes, he's taking Max with him", then brilliant. Anyone remember the Briatore and Alonso scandal that led to Alonso becoming persona non grata in F1 and Briatore picking up a lifetime F1 ban? Or his baleful influence on Michael Schumacher that led Ralph to leave the sport to escape his brothers reputation. Am I the only one who thinks Briatore is up to his old tricks, Alonso is his chosen tool for a second time and the FIA under its Saudi leadership are now a willing accomplice? I may well be seeing conspiracies where none exist, but it is uncanny how wherever there is scandal in F1 Briatore seems to pop up.
@seashackf1
@seashackf1 7 месяцев назад
You are definitely seeing conspiracies and other things that don’t exist. You’re just making ish up at this point. Saying Alonso was persona non grata after an incident he was found to have no part in proves it. Were you even following F1 at the time? He was praised for ‘10 - ‘13 when he was at Ferrari and fighting for the championship in a lesser car. It’s only the Uk press and fans that ever disliked him and that’s goes back to 2007 and the fact they hate all of Lewis’s rivals. Starting with Alonso, then Massa, Vettel, Rosberg, Max and now George. They only started liking Vettel when he was no longer a competitive rival and Lewis himself started to like him. Ralph leaving because of Michael is about the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Ralph was done, in fact he was only in F1 because of Michael. Your dislike of MS and Alonso a lot about you. BTW, Briatore doesn’t have a lifetime ban…..look it up. You’re now just conveniently leaving facts out to fit your narrative.🤦‍♂️
@will51256
@will51256 7 месяцев назад
@@seashackf1 Agreed Briatore doesn't have a lifetime ban now. Remind me who lifted it? While your at it, why don't you tell us all about Briatore's history and his convictions and 2 years in prison for fraud. Maybe you will mention his departure from British QPR after being caught match fixing (more fraud). Perhaps you will comment on MS's fine and 2 race ban for cheating (a type of fraud) while at the Briatore run Benetton. I have little time for useful idiots, even less when they are real talents that allow themselves to be corrupted by the likes of Briatore. But that you would see my first post as anything other than pointing out the stench of Briatore corruption in the air says more about you than me. There is one thing we do agree on and that is the near universal dislike of Lewis Hamilton, a dislike you clearly share. My question to you is: Is your dislike of him driven by the same now well documented racism that has plagued all of Hamilton's racing career from his early carting days to F1? Or maybe you think the 'we race as 1' anti-racism campaign wasn't an effort on the part of F1 and the FIA to rehabilitate themselves when their racism was suddenly spotlighted internationally and started costing them money. Maybe your continuous attacks on Hamilton and defence of white fraudsters and cheats has more to do with skin colour than driving skills. Again I may be seeing things that aren't there, but it's funny how you seemed to miss how I linked everything I said to Briatore, Even to the point of pointing out the link in the last sentence of my first post, but you managed to ignore that while claiming I am fitting fact to my narrative. Ironic that! LoL

May not be entirely his Daniel's fault. There is a very good article on the BBC F1 Website, about the relationship between a Driver and his Race Engineer. They tend to stay together over the entire career of the driver's time at whatever team he is with. That is particularly obvious in the cases of Max V and Lewis H, at their respective teams. The bloke that is now Ricciardo's Race Engineer, only had a few hours to chat to him before Danni Ric joined the RB team. It's the same as any other new relationship; it takes time for two people to learn how to communicate effectively with the other person. That effective communication is what makes Max; Lewis; Lando; Oscar; Fernando; Carlos, etc., so good in the car. We don't get to hear all of what takes place between Driver and Engineer, during the course of a race. Give Danni a few more races and he'll soon get up to speed again. Don't forget, there have been many other drivers who never made it in F1 and didn't last beyond their Rookie Year. Danni's been around a while and has won races, despite being the Number 2 driver in Red Bull, opposite Sebastian Vettel, who, like Max, was exceptional. He's never going to be a World Champion, along with Mark Webber; David Coulthard; Filipe Massa; Valtteri Bottas and Checo Perez, but he's always been reliable and consistent in the past. The trouble is, some teams are not very considerate towards their Number Two drivers, as evident by the frequency with which Team Orders are imposed, in favour of the Number One driver; such as Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. And for the record, I doubt that Charles Leclerc is ever going to be a World Champion... and especially, Not with Ferrari. From what we've seen recently, Red Bull are not a very good team to drive for, as evident by the frequency with which drivers are promoted and then demoted again; especially the Number Two team, currently called RB. Personally, I'm surprised Danni even considered agreeing to accept that seat, given the way he's been treated by them in the past; especially by Helmut Marko. I wouldn't drive for Red Bull, because you can't trust them.
