Horrible Histories Victorian Beach Watch 

My grandfather wore a black wool bathing costume in the 1910s and 1920s. He went out and bought a one-piece one that came down to just above the knee. My grandmother was horrified because people would see his knees. The irony being that when those wool bathing costumes got wet they stuck to the skin outlining every crevice leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination.
