I get that you may be disappointed in presentation, but to base the entire baby off of the packaging is horrible. From what I saw, that baby looked EXTREMELY realistic. Beautiful. I admire the artists that are able to create a doll as realistic as that. I'm sorry, but I've had worse box openings than that and I still appreciated the doll because it's not what surrounds the person (or in this case, the reborn), but the actual person (baby) themselves. I would love to know this artists technique, as red is what I am for when I am painting. Newborns are red. It's the amount of blood that is finally able to move so quickly after leaving the womb. It happens. Are you going to look at a red newborn baby and say it looks horrible? I'd think not, as all babies are beautiful. I'm sorry you felt you had a bad experience, but you couldn't even go five seconds without complaining about the baby and its presentation, etc. Shame. I'm glad the artist handled it professionally, though.
I know this is an old video but omgoodness I can't believe all the negative comments cause as a reborn artist myself I would never send out a doll like this!!! These dolls are not chump change they cost hundreds of dollars and some are thousand so when you see a box like that and no it wasn't the artist fault in the box damage but it is her fault for the protection of the doll and who wraps them up in brown paper and plastic?!!! Gifts to me are an option cause your not buying for the gifts your buying for the doll even though I would never send one out with nothing not even second hand doll I sell. And you all have to remember video never shows true coloring of these doll so if y'all got a doll that looked like it dipped it's hand and face in red orange Kool-Aid and had a smashed forehead (because it was not packaged right) you would say "oh it's ok I only paid $600 for it!!" NO YOU WOULDN'T. She had every right to complain and she never said the artist name so she didn't disrespect anyone on here. There is a lot of people out there that will paint a doll and has only painted maybe 3 dolls and call themselves artist and sell them for hundreds of dollars but even a 100 is to much for some new artist trying to paint. If your a new artist buy cheap Bountiful Baby kits practice on them and maybe you can sell them for like 50 bucks a piece if they're somewhat good until you know what your doing and be honest say I'm a new artist starting out so their not going to be perfect. But until y'all are in this ladies shoes don't down her. I've had this happen to me and it had purple all over the eyes like it was beaten and I had to strip it and paint it myself because the kit was sold out. And I didn't get a dime back after paying $450 and this was years ago. Im sorry you had to go through this and that the doll was orange and red and looked nothing like the pics with smushed in forehead. I hope you got it fixed or money back!!
Totally agree with you, I had twin B made by this artist & she honestly looked like she'd been on a sunbed for too long. She wasn't cheap and although I couldn't care less about getting loads of stuff in the box with her...arriving wrapped in brown paper was pretty grim to say the least. I sold her for a lot less than i payed for her & when you spend a lot of money on an artist doll you are entitled to be very disappointed if it is not what you were expecting
Look people - just because the baby is beautiful, or realistic because all newborns are red - doesn't make up for the fact that it wasn't what she expected. Even if she did get discouraged because of the packaging, that's HER RIGHT.. The unboxing of a reborn is a huge moment for these people, as close as they get to a birth, and he experience was ruined for her. Let her feel what she feels ffs. You disagree - great! That's your right - just as her opinion is hers.
why do people make the box opening more important than the actual baby it makes no sense open it up and get to the baby but all of this opening in examining all of the filler paper and all the little extras it starts to become very corny

Pathetic people like these want a box stuffed with goodies so they can go thru those yaying and naying. She thought if she shook the box that she would make a point that there was nothing in there besides the very well wrapped doll.

did your issue ever get resolved? I'm having to refund a buyer because she thought the baby she bought from me was too dark and should have been listed as an ethnic or biracial baby. my pictures were pretty clear and my idea of biracial and her idea of biracial are two different things, but guess what? As an artist, its my job to make my customer happy and she wasn't. I am refunding her all her money back. I am amazed at how many artists refuse to make things right. I am so sorry you went through this. Maybe you can resell her on eBay. Someone else might think she's perfect. Good luck ;o)
I know this video is older but what's the damn issue? She's a outstanding baby and her coloring fits her age. If you wanna see a hideous red doll come. Take a stroll along my video and its horrible box opening. This is just sad how you spit upon a doll that's meant to look red.
Don’t judge the buyer! We don’t know what the pictures looked like? And we are not there in person to see the baby in real life! I’ve been collecting reborns for almost 20 years & yes, some people do like red babies especially if it’s a preemie. I personally only like redness in the hands, feet, cheeks & creases. We all are different & like different skin tones.
I'm sorry! Maybe its just me but I think she was beautiful! I'm way too poor to ever get a reborn but its on my bucket list! I'm happy it all worked out for you! I hope they don't just throw that baby away! I know there's alot of children or women that would still love her just the way she is!!!!!

Alex x Some cat ladies are very nice but the cat ladies I refer to are the ones who live in dirty cluttered houses and are hoarders. As well as hoarding stuff in their house, they are cat hoarders and they sit around their cauldron (or in this case, an eBay box) cackling away. Their broomsticks are parked besides their door as an easy mode of transport. The old hags never look at their YT replies. I noticed the very last thing ‘bag number one’ said was about making a claim. I do hope the artist has seen this video having had ebay on her case for a refund, I imagine when the doll was returned, that it stank of cat pi$$. I hope the artist put the word out amongst the better artists so as not to sell to these bitter old cat ladies.

This baby is packaged so poorly.... This baby i packaged so well I can't get it open... Little excessive with the tape... I have never had a baby packaged this way. -- Huh? Are you purchasing a baby doll or a packaging skill?? You already planned to email the person before you got the first piece of tape cut. You intended on hating the doll because of the packaging. As an ebay seller, I'd say if you have to spend extra time to remove t he item from packaging, then it's packaged pretty dang good! Kudos to the artist on a very realistic looking baby. I've seen quite a few babies being born and they were all red for the first 14 to 48 hours. I would love to have gotten such a realistic baby, if I were into baby dolls.

That's what I was thinking too. The moment they saw the bad packaging, their minds were already set on hating the doll no matter what it looked like. They were angry at the packaging, and so they decided to be rude about the doll too. That's ridiculous. And heck yeah. I love ICP too.
I feel ya! They saw the package, and decided it wasnt up to par with them. The post office has lay over that, not the artist. And everything I tape is taped 20 times to ensure it wont open. Yes the box was a bit big, but maybe that was the only box the seller had? I think the seller put the magnet in there because maybe she didnt know how they liked it? And right from the beginning they started saying they wanted to contact the seller. And then started hating on the baby that looked very realistic in my opinion. "Baby ate to much"? Uh.. yes they are typically that big in the belly when born. Im a beginner artist and I think my madison on Instagram is turning out just fine. Kudos to that artist for not making a video after this. I would be pissed. Ask for pictures in natural light, of the hands and feet and face. They were displeased by the box so they decided to be displeased by a baby that was very realistic. They even said it themselves they arent reborn artists, how would they feel if they made something, sold it, and that person basically spat on it, then decided to upload the video of them hating on it? I would think they would feel pretty bad about it, maybe even a bit angry. This community is about creation, to be free to do what you like. Art is the form of the soul and they just spat on that artists soul.

Old women always complain! Nothing is ever up to your standards. I can agree that the way it was packed was less than adequate, but the baby was adorable! Nothing wrong with it whatsoever.
to be completely honest the baby is actually gorgeous. Most newborn babies are very red when they are born. It is actually pretty accurate to a real newborn baby. But if you are unhappy with what you purchase by all means get a refund. But the baby is an accurate representation of a newborn baby
Watching this video was really hard because straight from the get go you were bashing the baby and bashing the seller. As a community we should be trying to pick each other up, not knock each other down. The baby may not be to your taste but that doesn't mean you need to bash them, you can give constructive cristism instead of being what I would consider downright harsh. You could of potential ruined someones career and made them want to stop doing something that they may love. A newborn is naturally red, I think the baby was painted perfectly and the baby being wrapped so well and the fact it has so many layers to get through shows the artist took time to make sure the baby got to you in a perfect condition. Overall, I think this is harsh and wrong. I would happily take that baby as I think she is gorgeous and the artist did a perfectly good job and I would be over the moon if I got a baby like that. Packaging is not nesscarily the sellers fault.

I understand the presentation wasn't all that great, but she was talking about contacting the person right when she saw the box. It wasn't the sellers fault it was the postal service. That baby looks fine. All three of my sisters kids were red and puffy after being born and they were like that for a week at most. I really feel like you saw the box and decided it wasn't up to par for you. I'm getting my very first reborn Wednesday and he's not coming with much at all. Dear God you complain more than my nieces.
I agree with you. As a reborn artist for almost 7 years now, I would have been very upset had that been my doll that she was talking so negatively about. I understand that not everyone is always going to love my dolls, but it takes a lot of time and effort to reborn and when someone talks and reacts with so much negativity, well....it's just rude. When I first started reborning, my babies were pretty red, because some babies are born that way, including my real babies. My reborns sold just fine, and I only had one complaint that the cheeks were too red/dark. The doll was returned to me, fixed, and sent back. I would never post a video on a public forum, talking the way she did about that doll. JMHO

Hannah Grace me too. I think the baby looked good. There's a lot of infants who are more red than others, and it doesn't even look that red. If I saw someone saying these things about something I worked on for so long and put my heart into, i would honestly probably cry! She's never gonna get another customer either! :(

These comments are ridiculous and by people who aren't spending their own money! The baby is over painted and lobster red. None of my own four children were born looking like that. These comments are absolutely rude. This is a piece of art and not a real baby and if I purchased a piece of art looking terrible I'd be upset too.
I personally think she is so pretty but I'm sorry you got scammed but I love her and I think she is gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️If I had her I would bond with her because I have gotten scammed with out even knowing at first and mine was the first ever reborn I had and I bond with her so well and mine is so much worse than yours but she is really pretty your baby❤️❤️❤️
too bad about the packaging - it seemed a really big box for that little doll. a box that fit more snugly would have been much better - and I agree - when you are paying hundreds or thousands for something - the packaging should reflect that. especially something as collectible as a custom silicone reborn. and as you said - even the pacifier that was included had the magnet not even attached. i see comments below calling you names and saying that you shouldn't be concerned about that, but those are people who probably can't afford to own one of these dolls or have never purchased one. i am certain that if they had bought a doll for several thousand dollars and it came wrapped in brown craft paper with gobs of tape and broken accessories - well, they would be just as disappointed as you. i know i would be. and the coloring - you are right, if it looks crazy and off to you then you should complain - for those that like orange/red skin tones - that's THEM. they didn't make the purchase so they don't get to tell YOU what YOU should be happy with. And to be honest - the baby WAS cute. I thought something was wrong with the belly, too, until you removed it and then I thought "oh, that's a belly plate - they probably didn't know that." But what I DID notice was the head certainly did looked flat as though it had been smashed in or dented - especially the forehead. I am glad that the seller agreed to a return and refund. I think the least they could do is bubble wrap these expensive collector's items and package them as beautifully as possible. most people would expect decent packaging for everything else from expensive shoes, to purses, to furs, to jewelry, to food - and a custom doll is absolutely on par with those other luxury items. not sure why some people don't get that...
Count yourselves lucky guys, in my country you cannot get a reborn doll for love or money. People won't ship them to my country. I see this and think gosh you lucky woman.

First of I have NEVER heard someone complained about a doll being OVERLY protected! Right away my first thought was these are the type REBORNERS get tired of selling to. I find it hard to believe if the doll is as red and dramatic as you're making it sound that that did not show up in the pictures I think you're the type of person who is already complaining before the boxes even opened hoping that complaining enough will get you a discount on the doll that you purchased. If you have a lot of unhappiness make them yourself
Honestly if I were the artist,I wouldn't have wrapped the baby in plain brown paper like fish.That was kind of tacky,but it was wrapped at least.Just sayin if it were my art,I would've put more care into presentation because of my time spent,and pride of finished product involved.I think she had a right to complain,as much as I would hate to hurt an artists feelings.Ebay moms beware....
Omg!!! That is horrible!!! TE coloring was excessive, the denting on its face looks like the baby was brutalized before getting to you, the excessive weight makes the baby look PREGNANT!!!! What did you end up doing? I'm so sorry, I just had a few bad openings as well
This baby's belly.....oh, unnaturally big! And then the damage to the head, and not painted well.... Packing, well, posting this days anything is brutal as post office do not provide good service at all so it is important to pack well. Not to mention prices to post anything! Well, If I personally received a doll in this condition I would file for a refund and send it back.
