Hi Logan, wow, that WAS a storm. And the amount of rain too in such a short period of time. Thinking your newly planted strawberries will be fine. Leaves ripped up but crowns look ok. The poor Zinnias though took a beating. :( It will be OK. Couple months left of growing season. I hope everything recovers fine. 🙏🤞👍
Hey Logan those are the type of storm we get here in Texas wow! That tree on the trailer is huge. The plants don't look too bad and I'm sure people will buy at a small discount. The young corn should pop back up. We are burning up and yawl are getting flooded, crazy. No rain here for 82 days and we are breaking record temps. We will be praying for your family.
Wow! I remember last year you all were in a drought down there and it’s happening again! God bless! We sure will be praying for you to get some rain, maybe cool you down a bit too for how hot the weather is there.
A tornado touched down just north of Interstate 80 along Nescopeck Creek. A narrow alley of numerous downed or snapped trees occurred, roughly following Overlook Road and then West Hollow Road, where a convergent and at times oppositional tree pattern was observed. The tornado departed West Hollow Road only to reemerge crossing Route 93, where a few hundred small apple trees were pushed over in an orchard, and a front porch roof was lifted up and over a house, while peeling back a portion of the primary roof of the residence. A large tree top was also lofted, and thrown to Zenith Road, to the left of the tornado path. The tornado intensified while moving along Hobbie Road, with numerous large trunk snaps, including several trees damaging a residence with a destroyed shed. The yard had several missiles in the form of small branches impaling into the ground. The tornado finally lifted shortly after, before reaching the intersection of Hobbie Road and Wapwallopen Road.
Wowww…Logan, I certainly hope everything will bounce back and the crops’ damage will be minimal. Strange that we got nothing but little showers when we usually get the first brunt. Take care….👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
So sorry about the storm I hope everything is alright. Your family worked so hard to grow all your crops. I’m praying for you. The sun will come out and help your crops to rebound. Keep us posted on how everything is doing.
I hate you got hit like that. Winds are bad enough on crops especially corn but the added hail can cause lots of damage. But as always farmers learn to adapt and overcome such challenges. And y’all are some of the best farmers around so I know you’ll be fine. Prayers for the farm and your family. God bless Logan.
They announced we had a tornado, prettty scary! We sure will overcome the hail it was bad but I’m glad it wasn’t bigger! Prayers to you & your family John, God bless!
Put up a little sign at the market from the "veggies" to the customers explaining that if there are blemishes, it's due to the hail that kept coming and coming, and "we couldn't get out of the field"! But the taste will still be great!
Sad heavy storm & hail which damaged the crops # instead of throwing unripe tomatos keep them in basket for 2 or 3 days they will ripe & become red & ready for sale # 🇵🇰
Pick all the green tomatoes before rotten. Raw chopped, mixed with jalapeños, pepper, garlic and gives hot oil. Boiled the jar and sealed. Yummy for steak,.fish and tacos sauce
Glad it was not worse than it was! I highly doubt most people are going to notice the little spots on most of the veggies. If you go to the grocery store stuff has nicks on them.
Sorry for your loss Logan,,we have been so lucky here in western North Carolina,,no hail , no wind storms but a couple flash floods and a couple dry periods this summer but I farm outside totally and we had a bumper crop of tomatoes,,better boys,,the tenth of July
I forgot to mention we are under a SEVERE Hail - Thunderstorm and a High WIND advisory tonight and FLOODING. I PRAY it doesn't affect you guys, those POOR PLANTS and FLOWERS. Keep us informed PLEASE.
So sorry to see it buddy so many things conspire against us. I’ve been using a lot of row covers, obviously you have too much area to consider them but for high value crops definitely worth a look.
Sorry to see the damage from the storm and hail.😢 The young corn that is flattened if it doesn’t recover you could use it for silage for the cows, I don’t know if you have the machines to do? You’ll need to re- inspect again in a few days or week to really see the damage.😢
Hi Logan and Sammi, thats a really hard vlog to watch with the storm causing so much damage. Hopefully your crops will look better in a few days time. I think your last planting of sweetcorn will try to grow upright causing bendy stems, happened a few years ago in August storm here and the forage maize looked really weird when it came to harvest, Best regards, david
Jamaica 🇯🇲 here sorry to hear and see we here in Jamaica 🇯🇲 had some very bad rains and winds and hail that hasn’t happened in Jamaica in years some houses were also damaged in the areas where I live sorry and I sure hope you’re crops survive
I wish I had been behind you with a bucket and I would have picked up everything and made some vegetable soup! I do like your attitude -- just roll with it all and hopefully you'll get a surplus of veggies that will be well accepted at the market!
Those storms can ruin your entire year. Worst I experienced had 900 acres of rice ready to cut was starting the next day with 9 combines neighbors there to help next morning it’s all flat on the ground Mother Nature. Farmers are the biggest gamblers in the world. If nature is kind you make $ if not you don’t. And you don’t control it
The sugar cane lays down like that where I live after any heavy or prolonged rain event but luckily it is mechanically harvested so it isnt such a big deal.
So SORRY my FRIENDS, give the plants a few days in the sun and get back to us with an update PLEASE, I know I will be waiting. As for those zinnias, we had a BAD windstorm here a few years ago and I just removed what was broken on the plants and those guys sent out so many new shoots I was amazed, They looked funky for a while and then the blooms I was amazed. I have my fingers crossed on that corn, that worries me a lot, the rest I hope they will send out new shoots but I don't know if the veggies will ripen in time. Let us know about the pumpkins,
Great Reason Not to Park around Trees and Why do Don’t want Trees anywhere near your House. They will come down on your Vehicle or House if you Don’t. 🤔👍
sorry to see all that damage. All i got here is massive weeds and split tomatoes from the rain and the wind took my tomato plants down and some of the peppers in my garden.
I hate to see anyone getting a storm like that Down here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast we haven't had any rain in over 85 days with heat in the 95=100 degrees, heat index to 121. Mother Nature has a horrible sense of humor
Hi Logan. I know exactly how you feel. I've been there. Most of your corn except for that last patch should get back up. Hopefully the tomatoes and peppers weren't bruised too bad. I'm guessing the newly planted strawberries were too small to sustain a lot of damage. I had a hail storm hit my tobacco one year right after I finished planting and as small as it was, it didn't really bother it. I said a long time ago, If you want to see the biggest gamblers in the country, don't go to Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Go to any farm in America.
Well, hopefully all those plants grow through their damage. Happy thoughts. And a video on how u guys spray for weeds would b awesome. Always been curious how u can spray without wiping out all the crops. Do u use any herbicides that don't effect the vegetable plants?
Yes it’s pretty crazy here! They have informed us that a tornado actually passed through! Scary! Thank you for watching, haven’t seen you comment in awhile I hope all is well 😃
@@BroyansFarm yeah, just decided to dive into electronics and master the art of repairing different devices. It really engulfs a lot of time.Nice to hear that even after youtube wiped out all old nicknames, you still recognizing my avatar ).Appreciate it,pal.
Logan. For a moment I had a horrid feeling you was going to show all your crops were destroyed by being washed out of the ground. In an episode of The Grand Tour, Jeremy Clarkson was left in charge to water somebody's crops the way you all grow yours. Anyway, Jeremy did something to a large water hose. He thought he upgraded it to have a longer water jet. The fool did more than that. He made the water pressure so strong, the water came out too strong and about as wide as a grapefruit and he never watered somebody's crops, he flushed them out of the ground where there was fruit and veg flying everywhere. People got flushed off their feet and somebody got smacked on the back of the head with a water melon where it was launched like a cannonball. Part of a barn was ruined. After the destruction, Jemery wondered why everyone thought he was an idiot. One time he tested a jet engine mounted down and the jet blast destroyed two planes and part of the airstrip. I don't know if you've seen him in Clarkson's Farm and Clarkson's Farm 2. He is so stupid. He thinks he knows everything and he never listens.
