The famed Blue triangle returns. You guys have been an icon for accessable, affordable quality games in the Netherlands since the 60's. This game is no exception!
You two really do an excellent job with your play throughs and rules explanations. Kudos. I found Horrified to be a wonderful co-op. I’ve played it many times now and not had a single player dislike it. Fantastic family weight game.
Tanks for the video. My wife and I love this game. Playing against 4 monsters ended up wining 1 game, 2 games losing by 1 action and one game we got destroyed 🙂
I really enjoy your videos! How structured they are and attention to detail on playability. Sometimes it’s a bit hard for me to pay attention from a full hour video but I see the benefit of seen a play trough!
Thanks. I was so confused about the creatures movement from the rule book. But knowing it can move on both water spaces AND land spaces totally cleared that up. (I had never seen the movie so had zero context for its abilities).
I've been wanting to add this game to my small beginner collection as I like the concept and design. Your video is the one I feel explained the game the best ☺️. Going to Target tomorrow to pick it up. Can't wait to play it!!
I was considering buying this game and the fact that I was able to watch the whole playthrough and have so much fun just through watching it confirmed that this would be a great game for me!
Great playthrough of a great game! I agree with you on all points. Sometimes a game just works on all fronts and this one really does. It’s so smooth and fun and should work for almost anyone.
Interesting game. I've never played, but I see two moments where I would have made different choices: at the beginning, I think I would have taken the death on the courier to save the blue items and get the cure faster. Then by the end, when you went to destroy the 3rd coffin, I would have taken the items in the church, the graveyard, then taxi to the crypt and destroy the coffin. One item for safety; 2 spaces away from monster and more items available on the way back. With your next cards, it wouldn't have changed much and I think you were lucky with your villagers? Because it's the only game I saw and your death marker was very low by the end. I'm guessing it's not always the case. Anyway, nice game! I don't think it's a game I'll buy, but if I have the opportunity, I would be curious to play once or twice.
They should make a game with a large map using hexagons to move and have different terrain to effect movement. Use pistols 1-3 points of damage and rifles 1-6 points of damage. use ammo like regular or silver bullets against cryptids like the Dogman, Bigfoot, Gillman, Lake Monster, Jersey Devil, Mothman, Ropen, Wampus Cat etc. You could have 1-6 players and one player playing the monsters.
This game is so great, but monumentally strange. It is a game that both can be anywhere from 100% change to win (2 easy monsters) to a 100% chance to lose (using 4+ monsters) but at the same time, it starts at its hardest and gets easier as the game goes on. I look forward to any expansion they do with adding monsters/villains. It should make for some awesome stuff. Great play through! Really enjoyed it.
I did not enjoy the game when playing the novice level; it was way too easy and our terror marker never moved from 0. I almost didn’t give it a second chance after that. I’m glad we went back after watching your playthrough, and played 3 medium and high complexity monsters and 2 heroes with 1 extra dynamic hero (like you guys). So so so so much fun!
Wow going back and watching the board games that got you into the hobby and then seeing this one next: this is the game that got me into the hobby in 2020. Love love love the theme! Usually play with just the girlfriend and myself (2 player) but might have to try the dummy player idea out next time. Also very easy to explain the concept (because it's thematic as hell) to another non-hobbyist couple for a 4 player game and we had a lot of fun that way. Would love to have Jekyll and Hyde and possibly the phantom of the opera for future expansion
That the question I had; if moving through a space can you use an action to pick up all items in said space and then move again if additional actions are remaking
I have a rule question… If you land on a space at the end of your turn and as the other players take their turns an object is loaded onto your space does it cost you a move to pick it up at the start of your next turn?
I encountered this game at Target and I wasn't sure if id like playing it so I briefly watched your video and I'm getting an impression that this is "simplified and twisted version of Arkham horror with Halloween theme attached..."
Thanks for that excellent playthrough ! I really like your interaction: no alpha player effect, you both are proactive, thinking and deciding together for the better. The game is heading my way (towards Switzerland, where Mary Shelley actually wrote Frankenstein...) and I am looking forward to enjoying it.
You made a mistake on the first monster turn. Dracula skill can pull you to him so you have to roll the dice. Wolf man you don't need to roll if no one is in his space.
From Peter Lee: “Wolfman still follows all normal targeting rules. The only time he moves directly towards the hunted character is when you draw one of the three ‘the Hunt is On’ cards.”
