This is the third time I've watched videos on this case, I almost didn't watch yours but am glad I did, because the others didn't include the recovery details like yours. Apparently now it is accepted that the bubbles escaping from diver's mouthpieces create an imbalance in pressure on cave ceilings that cause rocks to come loose, and now divers must be wary (as if they weren't before)
Thank you for a great video! I especially liked that you included the body recovery into the story. Many others have left it out. Oh, and your pronunciation of the Finnish names was actually pretty good! Greetings from Finland! You got a new subscriber! 🙂👍
@@TerrorTwin these ppl are insane I can't wrap my head around why ppl choose to do this. That being said ppl are gonna do this anyway so we might as well enjoy the videos of these fools struggling to survive. I realize how insensitive this sounds but like I said, they are gonna do it anyway we might as well enjoy these videos lol
Exactly! Why in all these cave diving videos are people (many of them complete strangers to the dead) risking their own lives and the safety of others involved to go retrieve dead bodies? Literally makes no sense to me
Good take on a much-covered incident 👍 Though @ 10:40 I wouldn't compare the camaraderie shared by cave divers as being like the Marines _(let no man be left behind)_ but more like that of climbers on Mt Everest or K2 _(mutual respect but you are responsible for your own survival)._ Cave divers (like high-altitude mountaineers) are knowingly putting themselves in extreme situations where there is little room for error... they accept the risk that if they start panicking underwater there is little that their dive buddy can do to help, and if they die in a cave it might be too dangerous to extract their body. Friends & family may try to retrieve their body, but each diver knows & accepts that they might _have_ to be left behind - like the bodies of climbers left at the top of Everest.
@@hit1664 I was being sarcastic. Clearly it didn’t work bc op thought it was genuine too lol. Just to be clear, this video is a complete and utter copy which has been covered by anyone looking to copy Mr.Ballen. Op, this video is terrible please delete your channel. Thanks
I believe it's in Norway plura was a pond at the it was frozen on the opening to the Cave so you need special diving suite you need extra tanks inside the Cave also trimix you also have to ascend slowly so not to get the bends I wonder we're they cave certified
People want adventure. They get a combination of nitrogen narcosis combined with silty water and safety lines that act as stuck lines. Panic sets in. And then bye bye. My brother does diving... But he is again cave diving. His boss friend died in cave diving. I would say. Open area cave diving maybe.. But these narrowed passages.. Screw it.
I don't get it either man.. I guess cause Im claustrophobic and suffer from anxiety so probably why I don't understand this but even still. If I didn't have that I still don't get why you'd wanna shove yourself into the tiniest holes.
Thanks for the comment. I try to provide all unique and new stories every week, but this story hits close to home as it was one of the main reasons I got into researching and creating videos. I enjoyed it enough to create my own video about it but realize others may have already heard it.
