Sadly the ANC minister blames apartheid!! They NEVER accept responsibility. A huge brain storm with ALL the roll prayers including Ground up and residences. Determine critical needs for immidate attention and the way forward. Cannot exclude anyone who needs to be involved.
Yes 💯 because they stole all the money meant to maintain the buildings... ALSO because they let go off doing the right thing to deport the illegal aliens 😮😮
When the DA was running Joburg Herman Mashaba tried to solve this issue but ANC and DA fired him! I am not hearing anything about this from the DA fanatics 🤔

@@AnnaMarrie-SWTCruel error, had many positives and negatives. However that cruel error would have never allowed such a thing to happen to any human being. That same cruel error would have arrested you and dropped you off at a trade school and found you a job.
It was sketchy 30 years ago. Bella Napoli was still going but those side alleys were no-go areas. I lived in PTA but I am pretty sure I stopped going around that time.
My father was on Carte Blanche in early 90's and he literally said this will become major issues. It was the episode about ANC stealing from the RDP housing funds and screwing over the private businesses (like my father's at the time) who were set to build RDP housing for the people. He was silenced for speaking out against the ANC (and for appearing on Carte Blanche, anonymously) it completely ruined his livelihood. He was blacklisted by the banks under ANC orders, which made it difficult for him to continue his business... he went under because he had to pay his workers out of his own pocket waiting for the ANC's funds as was promised at the, but that was the early days before people like all South Africans now know how corrupt the ANC would become and the funds were shared with cronies and not the people. These unbelievable stresses eventually got to my dad, which killed him. RIP dad 😢and F the ANC
We need to look at ourselves in the mirror and take responsibility for our actions. We do NOT have an ANC problem in South Africa, we have a voting electorate problem. With great power comes great responsibility. Accept responsibility for your actions, this is our own fault.
Just like the apartheid gov took care of only their own, the ANC takes care of it’s own. It’s not a race thing domkop, it’s a corruption thing. Both parties are grossly corrupt, you’re just happy to defend the one that represented your skin colour.
The film Jerusalema about this came out in 2008. Stories about hijacked buildings where the owner had fled are much older than that. The crooks in power have no interest in fixing this because they make money from it. Disgusting
When is Carte Blanche receiving the Pulitzer Prize? Truthfully‼️☝🏾. The wealth and depth of information and how you report on issues in the way they should to enlighten many of us and expose truths. And we can enjoy the benefit of it being made accessible through RU-vid and not necessarily through paid channels. Systematic and intentional cruelty by humans beings on one another. Mankind needs re-engineering. This is beyond reproach 💔
It is not a lack of housing again ANC you are supposed to look after your country's people first so all people that in South Africa ILLEGALLY should be deported back to their country SOUTH AFRICANS should get first option for HOUSING you cannot take care of your COUNTRY'S PEOPLE so WHY ALLOW THE POOREST OF POOR INTO THE COUNTRY
It's because of all the foreign people that are in our country they must be deported if they not having any documents. The tax payers must pay for everything that they want in South-Africa thats why they coming here. They bring the whole family here recieved R350 make use of hospitals and clinics thats why the the people must wait so lanog if they go to clinic or hospital.
But if NGOs really care about people who live in these buildings, do they really come and see the living conditions?? Isn't that a violation of human rights?
You see the problem is they would have no where to go which is what the NGO’s are saying. Which can be said to be a bigger “problem” than poor living conditions.
I am a homeless I do not live off hand outs but look at the STATE our COUNTRY is in AFTER 30YRS OF ANC RULE I again say ministers sitting in Parliament are only there to ENRICH THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH CORRUPTION OUT OF CONTROL
@@eisbeinGermany That law is part of the problem -in that it creates an incentive for people to occupy such buildings with the hope of being provided with alternative accommodation.
Lets all be honest we waisting our time. We knew about these buildings years ago. How much money is being lost with over 100 buidlings being highjacked
😂 building hijacking’s 😂 South Africa has been hijacked a long time ago and will continue to 🔥 until The Fight for Impunity is won. The only way to win a war is to have no mercy, no remorse and no compassion and sadly in the end, war has no winners only casualties.
@@alucardhellsing1037 that is why we need to go out and vote for a government that will protect our borders and proper security forces that protects the citizens and not work for the ANC Organisation and associates; DA and the leaders that joined them want to save SA from the malice and evil of the ANC and eff and the New World Order knocking on our door🙏
Noluthando and Edward are to blame. They don't want these people to be moved. These people must be deported, South Africa is also bleeding it can't even take care of its own people. Open borders are collapsing this country. These buildings must be demolished, period.
and these NGO's are often foreign or foreign funded - why must the city provide accommodation to illegal foreigners as well? It's a loop of disater and Mashaba was on the right path of taking action.
Edward Molopi (SERI) & Nothando Shongwe (LHR) are the guilty parties here. They were (& still are) advocating for these people to remain in such buildings, whilst at the same time encouraging more buildings to be hijacked with the promise that the occupiers will be provided with alternative accommodation.
They don’t do their work and are always surprised and on a reactive strategy, in fact the entire ANC Government doesn’t know anything about delivery of services.
I never use to blame the government before I moved from home South Africa to another country and I was always focusing on people/us degrading our own country. The exposure that I now possess, with no doubt the leading party is a disgrace. You can't be in power for this long with not even a single government department running smoothly.
I don't think the buildings should be demolished bit rather be renovated and rented out to youth that is on need of offices and spaces to run businesses but lacking funds. For instance, they can pay rates, electricity and water but not pay rent. Like the RDP structure but created for youths to have business offices because the issue of South Africa is youths sitting unemployed with the necessary skills but without the capital or being inaccessible to your market. The CBD is a place where people should be going to do business, not squat in hijacked and unregulated buildings.
And the responsibilities of the governments where these economic migrants come from? Surely we cannot be responsible for other people. We have enough issues ourselves
What a sad day in South Africa this should have never had happened and the problem should be on the anc government that has failed all the citizens of South Africa because of the corrupt officials that are opened to bribery to self enriching
Its not only in Joburg that this deplorable practise is in the order of the day, but in about every city or town in S.A. The tip of the iceberg is discovered.
When the DA was running Joburg Herman Mashaba tried to solve this issue but ANC and DA fired him! I am not hearing anything about this from the DA fanatics 🤔
Some of theses buildings can be renovated and be occupied by tenants or companies to generate tax for the country, to develop the city, which would increase the value of the rand and increase jobs for the people.
Who do you think is gonna pay. Its a buiding full of shacks. They dont have money because of our current money hungry goverment. The anc must take resonsibility they caused this.
@@johanvermeulen3629 the land sold to property developers at land rates could turn it into profit, it’s easy to be negative but solutions are available to avoid this happening again. Building also burnt in CPT.
When businesses vacated tge city of joburg in tge 90s, those building should have been refurbished and given to S.Africans as social housing....the city would be much better looking as people tend to look after what consider their own.. most of our old townships are still much cleaner abd functional.
And this is exactly what will happen to ALL houses, apartments, properties... if expropriation takes place! Even if the government becomes custodial of everything. This is what will happen!! Truth! Yes Mr R...a wake up call indeed...but not in the way I think you meant...though I'm no longer sure you even know what a wake up call even means😢
No subsidies, there are still many empty buildings, start fixing one, move people there make sure the structures are in place that slum lords cannot take over. Then move to the building that now should be empty, fix it up and move on to 1000 buildings
We need fearless leaders in SA honestly. Leaders who think about people's lives first before money, and I honestly don't see anyone like within are current political spectrum.
The main problem that the government needs to pay more focus into, is the high influx of illegal or undocumented foreign nationals. There are those who use these kinds of opportunities to get the RDP houses while South Africans who are entitled of receiving the RDP houses get nothing.
You and your people are to Blame for this countries downfall so anybody with the type of surname you have has lost all credibility....this B.e e is full of people that have jobs that don't deserve it
@@metalcake2288 Nothando Shongwe is advocating for it in the video; insisting that the occupiers be provided with alternative accommodation, in the meantime people who haven't hijacked any buildings have been on waiting lists for decades.
This is a very sensitive subjects especially to none South African citizens, as they feel like this subject is directed at them. I hope that this is not the case here because I know for a fact that most South Africans would not even bother asking such questions because they witness this problem every day. There are foreign nationals with false SA identities who are currently living in the RDP houses. It is very easy this process in this country, all you need is money.
I think the South African boarders should be properly monitored to ensure no further overpopulation and then an different government should be elected to improve the housing and crime problem
The problem here mostly is the NGOs like SERI(I know these bunch from experience) and thw courts that keep undermining government efforts to clean the city, the second problem is the municipality itself, they really dont care as they claim lastly the illegal foreigners that swarm the streets and occupies these building is staggering...
I knew that the government officials and police are involved. The government officials would be the ones with info on vacant buildings while it would be the police's job to make sure those buildings are evacuated.
Leitch comes from the Cape flats, where she probably had a more privileged upbringing. She has been in that position since Feb this year, and is clueless to the extent of the problem. How is she really linked within the PA?
Correction, Mashaba resigned he was not ousted. He tried to sort this mess out but but the cANCer inherited from the liberation movement was much deeper and they resisted his intervention.
Thabo Mbeki is a living Legend... That man said ANC will loose the Western Cape... That will affect other big metropolitans... 10 years later what happened?
Eff got in the middle when Joburgers and police try get in these buildings and houses that are hijacked , when they were looking for kidnapped young girls. Eff fought helping these people who didn't want community that helped brothers of these young children. Eff is to be blamed for every mess SA is facing, iyhooo that one is areally Domkop, and he has children who one day might be affected by his poor behavioranddecisions. And our ANC government guilty for being so lenient with these criminals, and too soft to the point that SA is not respected by anyone who comes and never goes away without fearing consequences . Ramaphosa has a mistake of trusting that people coming here are here because of something they are running away from, and don't even want to be documented, fearing they'll be traced. Ramaphosa and his government has totally failed to govern the country, because he's yes sir , yes sir , yes sir, but never no sir and put the foot down and "say , fokof and voetsek all of you, go home ". I have work to do to this home and that work is not you. All governments do that daily for the purpose of protecting their nation and country. Ramaphosa is clueless when it comes to protecting the country nation as priority. He's careless coward , and he's just absent to what he is supposed to be concerned about, and seems he doesn't even care anymore. This shoe was never his size from the start. 😮😮 .
The governments needs to start at the boarders because most people occupying those building are not South African nationals, their own govenrnment should be looking after them. Tax payers funds should not be used for foreign nationals most of which are criminals.
Blame it on the municipal coalitions, the NGO's and the human rights organisations this country is full of law fare there is so much litigation at the receiving end its the poor people who suffer either way!
