Yes! Y'all have so many fun movies on your lists!! Also, I promise this is coming from a friendly place- Jordan Peele didn't direct Candyman (2021), but he did produce it. It was directed by Nia DaCosta. A lot of folks get that confused- heck, I got that confused for years!! Anyhoo, awesome lists, and y'all gave me some movies to check out. I need to try and watch more movies from the last 20 years. :)
I totally realized this after the fact 🤣 like I KNOW Nia directed it and my brain left the building during this haha. Yes she is INCREDIBLE and she really DID THAT!
@@MidgeMunster Brains do be like that! I just wanted to say something because I genuinely didn't know that for, like, two years, so I'm never surprised when other folks don't know, ya know? :) Also, "Us" is definitely ookie spooky, and I found "Nope" to be a lot less "think-y" than Jordan Peele's other movies!
I absolutely love Trick R Treat! I was so disappointed that it didn't get a full theatrical release, but when it hit DVD I bought it that same day and watched it repeatedly that week. I'm glad it's finally gained some popularity. I know my love of that anthology movie is rooted in my love for Tales From The Crypt (the original movie with Joan Collins circa 1972) and Tales From The Darkside with Debbie Harry and Christian Slater. I love a good anthology and felt like Trick R Treat was executed perfectly. I remember watching the original Candyman in the theaters when I was around 10. That movie scared the crap out of me but also cemented my love of not only horror but also Clive Barker. I still have a difficult time watching the original Candman. However, that remake was done so masterfully, I not only watched it twice in a short period of time but recommended it to my mom. My mom called me immediately after watching it and told me how much she liked it better than the original, and it was far beyond what she anticipated. That Candyman remake or re-imagining is what we deserved with that terrible Nightmare on Elm Street remake.
YES!!! 4th kind was the 1st scary movie I saw in theaters- too young it was terrifying but I loved it. Jennifer’s body was a staple. And TRICK OR TREAT is literally my #1 favorite FOREVER I loved it since day 1 holyyyyyyyy
